Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 52

52 Awake, awake,
Clothe yourself in your strength, O Zion;
Clothe yourself in your beautiful garments,
O Jerusalem, the holy city;
For the uncircumcised and the unclean
Will no longer come into you.
2 Shake yourself from the dust, rise up,
O captive Jerusalem;
Loose yourself from the chains around your neck,
O captive daughter of Zion.
3
For thus says the Lord, “You were sold for nothing and you will be redeemed without money.”

Isaiah 52:1-3

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Resurrection, joy, unexpected victory and unabashed power. A sudden triumph over the grave that was considered impossible — so impossible, that it wasn’t considered. I love surprises.

Spring forth oh new day. Spring forth surprise of the century. Spring forth new day. Spring forth, and rise up in power and victory. This victory will sting the smug faces of the enemy who is known and the enemy who calls himself brother. This victory will be a slap in the face of the establishment, of the machine, of the enemy. This victory will relentlessly mock the ones who call themselves wise, who wear the tag of expert, who are self-appointed know-it-alls. It will stun the lookers on, the power brokers, the watchers and the media. But the people will rise up in heartfelt, unabashed, unexpected victory. They will rise up, and they will cheer. They will feel the victory as if it was their own, because it was for them. It was for them all along. The celebration will be one that taunts and mocks the stunned enemy.

8 Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices,
They shout joyfully together;
For they will see with their own eyes
When the Lord restores Zion.
9 Break forth, shout joyfully together,
You waste places of Jerusalem;
For the Lord has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.

Isaiah 52:8-9

This will be the victory, and it will be called the wake-up call of the century, the victory of the century, the defeat of the century, and the just desserts are coming. Victory will overcome defeat. Victory will spring forth from the grave, and the people will say, victory has never tasted this sweet.

10 The Lord has bared His holy arm
In the sight of all the nations,
That all the ends of the earth may see
The salvation of our God.

Isaiah 52:10

My justice will go forth from this victory like a bulldozer picking up debris. My justice will mow down and uproot anything standing in its way. This will be very fun to watch. Get your popcorn.

How to Respond

  • Pray the Lord’s Prayer, Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Declare, the Lord is moving in power. He will resurrect victory from the grave of defeat, and He will cause justice to plow forward like a bulldozer.
  • Decree, I am one on the side of the Lord’s. I will celebrate in His victories, and I will see and experience His justice for the people.
