Today’s Reading:
Psalm 27
Psalm 28
”I heard your voice in my heart say, “Come, seek my face;” my inner being responded, “Yahweh, I’m seeking your face with all my heart.”“
Psalms 27:8 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God who speaks says,
Choices are coming. They will come quickly, suddenly as if they dropped from the sky. They will drop in your lap. If you hear nothing but silence on the matter from Me, sit in the silence. Don’t rush forward with a yes or a no. Sit in the silence, and sit with the silence. Get comfortable in the silence until you can see whether that choice will carve a new way forward or if it will lead to a giant detour that takes you backward.
”I’m pleading with you, Yahweh, help me! Don’t close your ears to my cry, for you’re my defender. If you continue to remain aloof and refuse to answer me, I might as well give up and die.“
Psalms 28:1 TPT
This is a time where I Am calling you to get comfortable with and to press into the silence of My Presence. I’m beckoning you to look deeper here for answers. This is a time where it may seem like My voice is getting quieter, where My Presence is harder to find. It’s because I’m drawing you further in. It’s because I Am refiing and fine tuning your ability to hear from Me, to discern My voice and My Presence and My Pleasure. This is a time to not rush in with assumptions or the expectation for a quick answer in the usual way. This is a lesson in lingering. This is schooling in waiting on My Presence, pressing deeper into My Presence until the path ahead becomes clear. I’m teaching you a new way to hear. I’m giving you a new way to see. Don’t get panicked by the silence. The silence is an invitation to linger, to draw nearer and to come deeper until you see the path forward clearly. I will make the right choices as bright as noonday. I will show you that they will lead you forward. I will show you the negative, backtracking, time wasting consequences of making the wrong choice. You will see it in black and white.
”Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!“
Psalms 27:14 TPT
Keep leaning into Me. Don’t assume the silence is a mark of My absence or a sign of My indifference. The silence, this new white still silence is an invitation to tune your hearing more accurately, more finely to My heart.
How to Respond
- Don’t panic or make snap decisions if you are not hearing from the Lord. Draw closer to Him, and wait on Him.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You love to teach us new ways of hearing and discerning. Thank You for Your invitation to draw nearer, come closer and get a better understanding of Your heart. Thank You that You are faithful to show us the right paths forward and to warn us of choices that will lead us backwards and waste our time and efforts. Help me to draw near to You and not get rattled by this new lesson in hearing Your voice.
- Declare, the Lord’s ways are higher than my ways, and His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. Holy Spirit will faithfully guide me into all truth.
- Decree, I will not panic and rush ahead of the word of the Lord. I will settle in and make myself get comfortable in the new white, still silence until I can perceive His Presence, His Pleasure and His voice.
