But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.
2 Corinthians 2:14 NASB1995
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I’m blossoming something forth from you. It’s blooming in your heart. It’s a new truth. It’s a new revelation. It’s a new gift for wartime strategies. Your heart is carrying the fragrance of Heaven, and you release it everywhere you go. As you release it, the bloom grows larger, and your capacity to release this fragrance of Heaven expands.
For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?

Releasing the fragrance of Heaven is a wartime strategy, because it arrests the plans of the enemy. The scent stops the enemy in his tracks. He cannot proceed. The scent of Heaven, the fragrance of Heaven causes the enemy to do an about face and run from the scene. And as you unite together as one heart with various aspects of the scent of Heaven, with each of you carrying different notes with the scent of Heaven, it overpowers the enemy. He cannot proceed. Be united in love, and chase the enemy out of your territory with your love, with all that you carry that is the fragrance of Heaven.
Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as members of one family. Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another. Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him. Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.
Romans 12:10-12 TPT
Love is always the assignment. Bearing the fruits of the spirit bountifully is always part of the assignment. Overpowering the enemy with the fragrance of Heaven is now part of the assignment. Trust and obey. Walk in the ways of My Word. Be diligent in your pursuit of Me. And watch as the fragrance of Heaven is released from you, is released in your life — for you and for others. You will be drawn to those who carry other notes of the fragrance of Heaven. All of the notes represented in the bouquet of the fragrance of Heaven are complimentary. They are all meant to come together, to work well together and to enhance one another’s beauty. This is a a beautiful war strategy. Only I can conceive of such a beautiful, elegant war strategy.
How to Respond
- Commune with the Lord so deeply that you pick up and carry the fragrance of Heaven.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for Your beauty and for creating and loving beauty. Help me to be a good steward of Your Spirit in my life. Help me to be one whose life releases the fragrance of Heaven wherever I go. That scent will draw near to me those who love You and those who want You, and it will push the enemy in the opposite direction.
- Declare, We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One to God — a perfume of life to those being saved and the odor of death to those who are perishing. (2 Corinthians 2:15)
- Decree, I carry the fragrance of Heaven. I will steward it well. I will be one whose life is beautiful scent to the Lord. I will connect with others who carry the fragrance of the Lord, and we will enhance each other’s beauty. The outside world will know us by our love for the Lord and for one another.
