Today’s Reading:
Hebrews 4
Now the promise of entering into God’s rest is still for us today. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it. For we have heard the good news of deliverance just as they did, yet they didn’t join their faith with the Word. Instead, what they heard didn’t affect them deeply, for they doubted.
Hebrews 4:1-2 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I’m at rest. My soul is at rest. I’m drawing you into a place of perfect rest in Me. It doesn’t mean that you don’t put your hand to the plow. It doesn’t mean that you don’t continue to advance. It means that you are moved by the light of My Son. You are moved by the wind of My Spirit. Rest in Me. Be at peace in Me.
Now if this promise of “rest” was fulfilled when Joshua brought the people into the land, God wouldn’t have spoken later of another “rest” yet to come. So we conclude that there is still a full and complete Sabbath-rest waiting for believers to experience. As we enter into God’s faith-rest life we cease from our own works, just as God celebrates his finished works and rests in them. So then we must be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.
Hebrews 4:8-11 TPT
Stress has no place in Heaven, therefore it is not your portion here. Don’t pick it up. Chaos and disorganization have no place in Heaven, therefore they are not your portion here. Don’t pick up those things that I have not provided for you. Don’t partner with or agree with those things that do not serve you but only run your fuel lines dry. I’m calling on you to stay fully in tune with and fully plugged into the Source. There’s no need to worry, to fret or to be anxious. Those are not of Me. They don’t exist in Heaven. They are not for you. Drop them now, dust them off, wash them off, and choose the better way.
Choose to be fully connected, fully aligned, fully in tune with Me. And drive stress away with your worship. Drive anxiety and strain away with the joy of My salvation. Drive pressure away with declarations of My goodness. This is how we fight our battles. Those demonic spirits have no place with you. Drive them out.
So then, we must cling in faith to all we know to be true. For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty. He understands humanity, for as a man, our magnificent King-Priest was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin. So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.
Hebrews 4:14-16 TPT
Do as I commanded the Israelites under the leadership of Joshua, don’t leave even one shred of that spirit alive. Drive them out completely and fully, so you can live in this wide open space, so the vistas and the land can be tread and occupied in total and complete freedom. Your freedom is an example and proves that My freedom — the freedom of life in Me — is real, is possible, is attainable. Be a shining example of full freedom, so that through your light I can set others free. Be the pathway to freedom. Be the example of freedom. Be and live fully, totally, absolutely free. I love you my child. Be free.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord, thank You that Your portion for me is rest and total freedom. Help me to live in my true inheritance, fully aligned with You. I do not want to pick up or agree with stress, anxiety, pressure or strain. I want to live carefree in You. I want to be a model of true freedom for the world around me.
- Declare, I choose to live carefree before the Lord, because He is most careful with me. — 1 Peter 5:7MSG
- Decree, I break off every agreement, alignment and partnership with stress, anxiety, pressure and strain. I remove them fully from my life and I dust my hands of them. I will live in total freedom and the rest of the Lord, just as He has provided. I will not forsake my inheritance or my connection to the Lord by partnering with the tactics of Satan. I will live in rest and freedom and be a pathway to the Lord’s freedom for many.
