Today’s Reading:
Psalm 139
Proverbs 3
Proverbs 16
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God who rules and reigns victoriously forever say,
Trust Me. Lean on Me and not on your own understanding — step-by-step, day-by-day, moment-by-moment. My grace is charting a course, a path for you, and it’s one day at a time. Don’t run out in front, don’t try too hard to see what lies ahead. Rest in Me. Trust Me, and walk with me in this beautiful day that I have created for you called today.
You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me!
Psalms 139:3-5 TPT
Plan for the future. Make preparations for tomorrow, but don’t get distracted by trying to see details and by trying to perceive the fullness of what is to come. I Am with you in the here and now, and I will be with you all along the way as you walk this path forward to the future I have already laid out and established for you.
Wherever I go, your hand will guide me; your strength will empower me.
Psalms 139:10 TPT
Your work today builds the structures that bring you one day closer, one day forward. Don’t be too future-focused. Learn to live in the day called today and the moment that is now. Tomorrow will take care of itself, because I have already set it in motion. This is the day to be busy about your Father’s business. This is the day to make room for the people around you and those I unexpectedly place in your path. It all serves a purpose, and it all brings you forward. Walk in My grace. I have poured it out generously for you today. Allow future moments and alignments to take care of themselves. They will click into place and do the work I have instructed them to do as you are faithful in the work I’ve called you to today — as you are faithful to walk forward step-by-step in the day called today.
You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book. Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought! O God, your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, you’re still with me.
Psalms 139:16-18 TPT
Let today be enough. It’s how you will be successful and fill it to its fullness — to the fullness of potential I have for it — not by busyness and wheel spinning, not by harriedness and ping-ponging from one task to another. But by settling in, asking Me for clarity and laser-focus, and by making yourself available and present for the ones I have set before you and those who cross your path. Don’t be in a rush. Settle in. I have provided all you need to succeed and excel at the day called today.
How to Respond
- Breathe. Give your day to the Lord. Settle in to the reality that He has provided all you need to succeed and excel today.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for being my guide, instructor and comforter. Help me to rest in You today. Help me to trust You to prioritize my day, my interactions and give me all I need to accomplish the work You have for me today. Give me laser focus to do the work You have for me, and help me to set aside that which You have not appointed for today. Help me to be present and an encouragement for the people You have put in my life.
- Declare, Before you do anything, put your trust totally in God and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed. Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there. — Proverbs 16:3, 9 TPT
- Decree, I will not rush around fueled by fear, anxiety or stress. I will settle in to the rest of the Lord and align with the truth that He has given me everything I need to be successful today, and He has gone into my future to prepare the way for me. I will be methodical and focused on the work He has put in front of me to do, and I will leave to the side the things that He does not have prioritized for me today. I will be present and full of love, encouragement and the wisdom of the Lord for the people He brings into my life today.
