Isaiah 52
11 Depart, depart, go out from there,
Isaiah 52:11
Touch nothing unclean;
Go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves,
You who carry the vessels of the Lord.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
This is a time of departures. This is a time of turning to the right. This is a time of turning around, of about-faces, U-turns and course corrections. This is a time of departures from the planned path forward. This is a time of mass departures from the current road. The new path is one of humility, of repentance, of gratitude. It is one of moving deliberately. Where before many were headed fast and furious, headlong in the wrong direction, determined and self-assured. I’m causing many to make quick departures from their previous path and to take a new road where they move in humility, in repentance, in gratitude — deliberately. This new road is one where the people can enjoy and take in the journey. It’s not just about reaching some vague destination at top speed. It’s about enjoying the process with family and friends. It’s about the scenic route, smelling the roses and tasting My goodness. I’m causing many to make sudden turnarounds and head in a new direction with a new heart and a new attitude, with fresh purpose, filled with light and life.
12 But you will not go out in haste,
Isaiah 52:12
Nor will you go as fugitives;
For the Lord will go before you,
And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
I’m moving people to a place where they can enjoy the journey and recognize that the journey is everything. The journey is greater than the destination in terms of character formation, in terms of connection, in terms of learning and growing. The journey is where the experience of life happens. Though there will be great celebration at the destination, destinations are short lived stop-overs on the ongoing journey. There is no permanent destination until Heaven.
I’m causing wayward ones to turn around, busy all-consumed achievement seekers will turn around, wanderers will turn around and ones I have held in a holding pattern will also be set in a new direction. The turnaround is not just to send people in the opposition direction they were headed. It is about sending them in a totally new direction. It’s about setting them in the direction of what’s right. It’s about course correction for some, and it’s about new direction for others. Very few people will be left heading in the direction they originally set out to go. I’m causing a mass change of course for many, many, many people. This is a time of departures from the purposed direction. For some it will still cause them to arrive at their intended destination — just by another route. For many more, it will cause completely different but exceedingly more delightful destinations to enter into the personal and family map.
27 Zion will be redeemed with justice
Isaiah 1:27
And her repentant ones with righteousness.
This is a time of departures from particular plans, from intended paths, from places to which hearts had been committed. I Am dissolving agreements that would have bound people in a certain direction or place. I Am interrupting agreements that would have tethered and bound people to their current place. I Am causing new agreements, new offers, new contracts to arise out of thin air, out of left field; and they will be glorious. I Am making shifts that will fulfill hearts desires, that will delight souls and that will light up the countenances of My beloved.
This is a time of great departures for greater things, for greater days, for greater purposes and greater victories that bring greater rewards. The road to greatness is marked by a departure to what’s right, to humility, to submission, to a changed mind, a changed outlook, a changed attitude, a changed experience and a changed destination. This is a time of great departures that lead to greater days.
How to Respond
- Relinquish your right to set your own direction, pace and destination. Give that all to the Lord, and give Him permission to change anything He wants.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Have Your way. Change my heart, my mind, my direction and purpose to be Yours. My desire is to be with You, to be going in the direction of Your will and heading toward the destination of Your design. Thank You that You are the perfect designer, the ultimate course corrector and the master planner.
- Declare, this is a time of great departures. The Lord is causing many to depart from their current way, path and direction; and He is putting them on new paths marked by humility, repentance and the enjoyment of the journey. He is setting people on course for new, unexpected destinations, and He is making the way for them to get there.
- Decree, the Lord has full permission to change what He wants to change in my path, my plan, my journey and even the destination that I had set in my heart. The Lord will get me where He wants me to go as only He can; and He will bring great delight to my heart and life along the journey and the unexpected destinations.
