Today’s Reading:
Jeremiah 32

36 “Now therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, ‘It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, by famine, and by pestilence’: 37 Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation. I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety. 38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 39 I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them.

Jeremiah 32:36-39

The Lord says,
Be bold and brave in the waiting. You are in the transition, in the early part of the transition though you cannot see it yet. Things are shifting. Things are moving, and things WILL be different. Things WILL change. It feels like the volume has been turned up. It feels like discord and clashes are great. They are. You are watching the clashes of the spirit world manifest in the physical world. But here I Am in the midst of you, in the midst of it all. Listen to Me as I remind you of My faithfulness. Listen to Me as I encourage and strengthen you with with reminders of what happened when you trusted Me in the past. I Am faithful. I Am good. I Am with you, and I will uphold you. I will be faithful and present through this time of waiting on the transition. I will be faithful through the transition. And I will be faithful on the other side of the transition.

40 I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.

Jeremiah 32:40-41

You can see that I have plans for you — plans to prosper you, to give you a future and a hope. Walk with Me, and stick close to Me in this waiting place, in this space where it feels like chaos and rancor are stirred up and the world around you is getting more upside down and senseless. You can find Me there. I Am right here beside you, and I will see you through this place of waiting on the transition, of trusting in Me.

42 “For thus says the Lord: Just as I have brought all this great disaster upon this people, so I will bring upon them all the good that I promise them. 43 Fields shall be bought in this land of which you are saying, ‘It is a desolation, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.’ 44 Fields shall be bought for money, and deeds shall be signed and sealed and witnessed, in the land of Benjamin, in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negeb; for I will restore their fortunes, declares the Lord.”

Jeremiah 32:42-44

You will recount My faithfulness, My goodness and how with Me, you made it safely through to the other side of this transition to the place I promised you. It might not look exactly the way you expected. It might not look at all like what you expected, but it will be very good. It will be glorious. It will be drenched with My grace, covered by My love and perfectly planned and orchestrated by My Hand. It will be worth it, so continue to be bold and brave in the waiting.

How to Respond

  • Draw near to the Lord.
  • Remind yourself of the Lord’s faithfulness to you. Recount how He has never left nor forsaken you.
  • Pray, Lord, give me eyes to see Your perspective on what’s going on in the world around me. Help me to lean into You and not get distracted or unsettled by bad reports. Thank You for being with me here in the midst of it all and for Your promise to remain with me through this time of transition into the new place You are bringing us.
  • Declare, the Lord never leaves, never fails, and never loses. He will walk with us through to the other side of this chaotic and unsettled time of waiting and transition.
  • Decree, I will lean into the Lord during this time of waiting, transition and uncertainty. I will not falter in my trust in Him. I will remain steadfast, bold and brave in the transition. I will walk closely with the Lord into the new day and new place that He has promised.
