Today’s Reading:
Zechariah 4
Isaiah 44
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, “I, the Lord, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone, Causing the omens of boasters to fail, Making fools out of diviners, Causing wise men to draw back And turning their knowledge into foolishness, Confirming the word of His servant And performing the purpose of His messengers. It is I who says of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be inhabited!’ And of the cities of Judah, ‘They shall be built.’ And I will raise up her ruins again. It is I who says to the depth of the sea, ‘Be dried up!’ And I will make your rivers dry. It is I who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd! And he will perform all My desire.’ And he declares of Jerusalem, ‘She will be built,’ And of the temple, ‘Your foundation will be laid.’
Isaiah 44:24-28 NASB1995
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of Truth and Righteousness say,
Birthing and resurrection are here. I’m establishing something new in the Earth through the work of your hands. And I Am reviving and resurrecting some things that have grown stale, some things that have seemed lifeless and whose voice has grown quiet. This is a season of birthing and resurrection — where there are some things brand new and some things made new. The old will be breathed upon with fresh life. My resurrection power is in your midst. I will breathe on the dead dry bones, and they will live. I will speak to the old, crusty, stale and require them to be made new. New life is upon us. The brand new and the made new are emerging together at the same time.
So the angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my Lord.” Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”
Zechariah 4:5-7 NASB1995
The brand new will come of age, will come to maturity very quickly. And the resurrected, made new will look young, fresh and vibrant again. This is a merging and synergy of the brand new and the made new, the never before and the dead before. Where you looked and you once saw nothing but pressure and pain, death and decay — now you will see fresh life, something totally new — even as the old, dead and buried desires, dreams and projects come roaring to new life. This is the time of the yes, and. This is the time of being added to. This is the time of ascending new mountains and having the wind of My Spirit at your back, strengthening you, quickening you and refreshing you. This time going forward will look and feel and be very different. Don’t try to rely on old ways. Don’t try to fall back on old approaches and methods. New is required here. Fresh is required here. Guidance moment by moment from My Spirit is required here. Only by My Spirit will you be able to successfully identify and scale the mountains I have appointed for you.
Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish it. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel—these are the eyes of the Lord which range to and fro throughout the earth.”
Zechariah 4:8-10 NASB1995
You will work from a place of great ease, from a place of joy, delight, excitement and the overflow as you remain in My Spirit. Those worn down days of drudgery and toil for little to no return are gone. I’m doing a new thing. I need you to participate with Me. I need to you cooperate with me and understand that the birthing and the resurrection at hand must be handled by the instruction of My Spirit, because this is a new day. Allow it to be a new day. Let go of the old. This is a new day.
How to Respond
- Ask the Lord how you need to be positioned and ready for the birthing and resurrection He is bringing.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You are making all things new. Thank You for birthing something new through me and for Your promise to resurrect old dreams, desires and projects — making them fruitful, vibrant and prosperous. Help me to change my instincts and move by the impulses of Your Spirit rather than by previous methods. I want to be properly positioned and ready for Your move of birthing and resurrection in my life.
- Declare, I will advance and build at the direction of the Lord, and it will prosper — not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord. I will sow with the work of my hands, but increase comes from the Lord.
- Decree, I will get low and stay low. I will put myself in a catcher’s stance, so I can successfully birth and catch the heavy thing that the Lord is bringing through me. I will feel the breath of the Lord move on things that have grown stale and dreams and desires that have long seemed dry and dead. I will see His resurrection power at work in my life. I will move by the impulses of His Spirit and not by what has worked in the past. He will guide me faithfully to the mountains He has appointed for me to scale and occupy. And the breath of His Spirit will give me the strength and momentum I need to succeed in the tasks to which He has called me.
