Today’s Readings:
Psalm 18
Psalm 100

11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him,
thick clouds dark with water.
12 Out of the brightness before him
hailstones and coals of fire broke through his clouds.
13
The Lord also thundered in the heavens,
and the Most High uttered his voice,
hailstones and coals of fire.
14 And he sent out his arrows and scattered them;
he flashed forth lightnings and routed them.
15 Then the channels of the sea were seen,
and the foundations of the world were laid bare
at your rebuke, O Lord,
at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.

Psalm 18:11-15

The Lord says,
It’s resurrection season, and resurrection causes a paradigm shift. It causes people to make room for the unexpected that has been thrust into reality. It calls for the need to build or rebuild and create a fresh start. Resurrection season is coming in power. It’s coming in the time of a great and powerful storm that will dismantle, destroy and shake loose all that needs to be shaken. This storm will expose and lay bear what was hidden. This is a storm of destruction, exposure and cleansing; and this storm is happening in the midst of resurrection season. The season is the context for the storm, and resurrection season will outlast the storm.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 100:2-3

The storm clouds are dark and the winds and the rains violent. The storm will produce a new day that requires rebuilding, reimagining, regrouping and starting afresh. The way to the new day is through the storm. The storm is a non-negotiable element of this season.

Choose in advance what you are hoping for, believing for. Cast your vision in advance. Choose purity, the Spirit of Counsel, growth, prosperity, peace, joy, companionship, the joy of the Lord as your strength and the hope of a bride. Let these be the decided, the pre-determined choices for the way forward by My people of victory.

19 He brought me out into a broad place;
he rescued me, because he delighted in me.
20
The Lord dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he rewarded me.

Psalm 18:19-20

You are the sheep of My pasture and the people of My flock. I will never leave nor forsake you. Daily choose Me. Daily walk with Me, and we will emerge into the new day victorious with hearts already primed with the vision for the fresh start that we will build together.

30 This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
31
For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God?—
32 the God who equipped me with strength
and made my way blameless.
33 He made my feet like the feet of a deer
and set me secure on the heights.
34 He trains my hands for war,
so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
36 You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip.

Psalm 18:30-36

This is a difficult season, but it’s a beautiful one and a weighty one to be a part of. You were distinctly chosen for it, so you are equipped and endowed with what it takes to withstand it. Hold on. Cast your vision for the future. Continue to choose Me. Continue to drill your faith deeper and deeper into the foundation of Me. Continue to hope and to daydream.

How to Respond

  • Pray, declare. Call forth what is not as though it is.
  • Speak only words of life, hope and future. Leave all discouraging and defeatist talk aside. It has no place here. This is a place to speak life and future.
  • Decree, the Lord is faithful, and He is bringing a storm of destruction, exposure and cleansing that the world needs. It will accomplish His purposes.
  • Declare, I am on the side of the Lord. I am among the people of victory. We will be found faithful, and we will determine the new path forward.
  • Declare, the Lord is causing this storm to come in the midst the resurrection season. I will not get discouraged by what I see around me. I will choose to set my eyes on the new day He has promised.
