Psalm 34
Isaiah 55
6 Seek the Lord Yahweh when he makes himself approachable;
Isaiah 55:6-7
call upon him when you sense he is near.
7 The wicked need to abandon their ways,
and sinful ones need to banish every evil thought.
Let them return to Yahweh,
and they will experience his compassionate mercy.
Yes, let them return to God,
for he will lavish forgiveness upon them.
The Lord says,
Choose Me. Choose Me above all else. Choose Me above your desires. Choose Me above your appetite. Choose Me above your fears.
4 Listen to my testimony: I cried to God in my distress
Psalm 34:4-6
and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears!
5 Gaze upon him, join your life with his, and joy will come.
Your faces will glisten with glory.
You’ll never wear that shame-face again.
6 When I had nothing, desperate and defeated,
I cried out to the Lord and he heard me,
bringing his miracle-deliverance when I needed it most.
Choose Me. Let Me in to freshly plow the soil of your heart. Let Me in to wash, clean and refresh your mind. Let Me in to heal the broken places and pour oil and water on the dry and desolate places within you. This is a season of of restoration, but it starts with a choice. It starts with choosing Me. It starts with making everything else in your life secondary to your choice of Me. This gives Me room to operate. This gives Me freedom and access to those places. I must be the first choice, the priority, the One you determine to submit your heart and your life to. From there, I can do amazing wonders and completely renovate and restore your inner self. Then you will sparkle and shine as glorious as the sun.
22 But the Lord has paid for the freedom of his servants,
Psalm 34:22
and he will freely pardon those who love him.
He will declare them free and innocent
when they turn to hide themselves in him.
It requires taking your hands off of the wheel and submitting to Me. It requires relinquishing control and a right to your feelings. Just set them all before Me as an offering, and I will have My way. I will work wonders within you and on your behalf. It is this level of total vulnerability and complete submission that leads to freedom, and it leads to all the other things being added unto you. I must have all of you first. I must have total unrestricted access to every part of your being and life. Then I can do My amazing overhaul of your insides. I can do a total renovation of the spaces with you, and I will cause your spirit to soar. I will cause your whole being to shine. I will take responsibility for adding blessings, surprises and fulfilling the deep longings and desires of your heart. I will do it.
8 Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God.
Psalm 34:8-9
Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives
to all who turn to hide themselves in him.
9 Worship in awe and wonder, all you who’ve been made holy!
For all who fear him will feast with plenty.
I Am faithful. I Am true. I Am not a man that I should lie. But you have to do your part. Your part is in the letting go. Your part is in the submission to My hands, My will, My ways, My instruction. Watch how glorious your life becomes. It may sound terrible to you in theory, but in practice you will see the revelation of My Father’s heart for you. You will see that I Am ABSOLUTELY good. You will see that I desire your deep desires for you more than you do. You will see that I Am for you and not against you. You will see My true character, My nature and the immense unfathomable goodness that defines Me. You will see that I Am love itself. But you have to let go, submit and come along for the ride. This is what experiential knowledge is. This is what it is to find out, so you know. This is moving from head knowledge and religious language to true, heart knowledge – true conviction so real that you can’t be convinced otherwise. This is the establishment of truth in your heart. This is real knowing that only comes from experiencing.
10 “As the snow and rain that fall from heaven
Isaiah 55:10-11
do not return until they have accomplished their purpose,
soaking the earth and causing it to sprout with new life,
providing seed to sow and bread to eat.
11 So also will be the word that I speak;
it does not return to me unfulfilled.
My word performs my purpose
and fulfills the mission I sent it out to accomplish.”
This is where your heart’s cry can be found and realized. This is where your joy taps into a fountain that has no end. This is where faith begins, and the impossible is squarely in reach. This is preparation for wild exploits that I have planned for you. It all starts with a choice. With a yes. With letting go and submitting your life into My hands. Let’s go!
How to Respond
- The Lord desires to heal you and prepare you for a new season, for your future. He wants to reveal Himself and His character to you. It starts with a choice. It starts with saying, yes, Jesus. I will choose you because you chose me first. I will leave my desires, hang-ups and need for control behind. I will submit my life to you.
- Sit with the Lord. Ask Him to highlight any fears, desires or broken places that you are holding back from Him. Submit them with open hands to Him.
- Submit your whole life to the Lord, so He can bring heart preparation, healing, and renewal of your mind and thought patterns. This is not a one-sided process. It requires your active obedience and participation.
- Worship. Worship will act like an inner healing mechanism that removes splinters and infections from the inside.
- Declare, I am a follower of Jesus. I have submitted my whole life to Him for reshaping, renewal and restoration. He is preparing me, with my active engagement, for great exploits and a future that exceeds my wildest expectations.
