Today’s Reading:
Psalm 16
“Yahweh, you alone are my inheritance. You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion. You hold my destiny and its timing in your hands.”
Psalms 16:5 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God says,
Choose Me. In the midst of everything choose Me. In front of your friends, choose Me. In front of your co-workers choose Me. In front of your children, choose Me. When confronted with your own self, choose Me. In a time where the world is driven by impulses and selfish desire, choose the narrow way. Choose Me. Choose discipline, and choose to say yes to My Word. Choose to align yourself to My Word. This is a time where discipline is needed. While other hands are reaching out to take what they desire, you stay on the narrow way. You stay in the tracks of My chariot wheels. You stay on the tight path that I have laid out and chosen for you. For many the way is broad. It seems easy. It seems fun, but it is the way that leads to death.
“Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places. I’m overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following you! The way you counsel me makes me praise you more, for your whispers in the night give me wisdom, showing me what to do next.”
Psalms 16:6-7 TPT
For the few, for the remnant, for the lovers who draw near to My heart and daily seek My face, abundant joy and pleasures unspeakable are found on the tight and rocky path of My way. Bliss is found on the narrow way. Relief from torment and entry into pure unadulterated freedom are found on the narrow way. This is the truth that doesn’t make sense to men. It’s very difficult for those who do not know Me to comprehend. The narrow way brings freedom. The broad way brings destruction and bondage. The narrow way brings victory and fulfillment. The broad way of choose your own way brings emptiness and sorrow.
This is a time to choose whom you will serve. Choose this day whom you will serve. The narrow way and the narrow gate are for your great delight, your joy and your benefit. They require discipline and a heart and mind set firmly on Me. The broad path and the choose your own way gate are the sure path to emptiness, loneliness and discontent. The allure of do whatever you want and go your own way do not deliver on their false sparkly promises. They take even what you have, causing the things you hold dearest to slip between your fingers.
“Because I set you, Yahweh, always close to me, my confidence will never be weakened, for I experience your wraparound presence every moment. My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory! Even my body will rest confident and secure. For you will not abandon me to the realm of death, nor will you allow your Faithful One to experience corruption. Because of you, I know the path of life, as I taste the fullness of joy in your presence. At your right side I experience divine pleasures forevermore!”
Psalms 16:8-11 TPT
Don’t go your own way. Make your way My way. When your path redirects itself onto My narrow path, the possibilities are endless. The joy is fullest and overflowing. Connection, restoration and freedom are found here — right here on that narrow path that so many have shunned. That seemingly unattractive narrow path is the only way to freedom. It’s the only way to life more abundant. It’s the only way to fullness of joy and a right view of self. It’s the only way to have all the pieces of you integrate properly into wholeness and healing. I Am the narrow gate. My way is the narrow path. Choose this day whom you will serve. My grace is here to choose the narrow way.
How to Respond
- Shun the broad path and the way that seems good to man. Choose the narrow way of the Lord.
- Pray, Holy Spirit help me to be one who follows faithfully in the tracks of Your chariot wheels. Thank You that You are the one who marks out the path in front of Me. You go before me and make a way where there is no way. You are the way, and You are the only way to salvation, life, restoration and healing. Lord, draw many from the broad way onto Your narrow path, through Your narrow gate. You deserve a bountiful harvest Lord.
- Declare, Lord Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No man can come to the Father except through Him.
- Decree, I choose the narrow gate and the narrow way. I choose the pursuit of the Lord God Almighty. I choose to daily seek His face and dwell in His presence. I choose to follow Him wherever He leads me. I will continue to follow Him and shun the broad way. I am on the narrow path that leads to abundant, everlasting life in Christ Jesus.
