Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 40
Your God says to you: “Comfort, comfort my people with gentle, compassionate words. Speak tenderly from the heart to revive those in Jerusalem, and proclaim that their warfare is over. Her debt of sin is paid for, and she will not be treated as guilty. Prophesy to her that she has received from the hand of Yahweh twice as many blessings as all her sins.”
Isaiah 40:1-2 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Restore the path to salvation. It has been filled with many stumbling blocks. The path I paved was level, straight and sure. It led directly to the Cross. But many have come behind me and littered the path with rocks and hurdles, inconsistencies and lies. Many have made personal guilt the defining trait of those who try to make it down this now nearly impassable path. The guilty don’t need any help feeling their guilt. Level the path, clear the rocks and debris and false hurdles from the path. Make the path straight, clear and narrow again. Many have also attempted to widen the path and have tried to build a path that completely circumvents the Cross. This is not the way, and any who lead my little ones astray like this will be dealt with severely.
A thunderous voice cries out in the wilderness: “Prepare the way for Yahweh’s arrival! Make a highway straight through the desert for our God! Every valley will be raised up, every mountain brought low. The rugged terrain will become level ground and the rough places a plain. Then Yahweh’s radiant glory will be unveiled, and all humanity will experience it together. Believe it, for Yahweh has spoken his decree!” A voice says, “Cry out!” And I ask, “What should I say?” “All people are as frail as grass, and their elegance is like a wilting wildflower. The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of Yahweh blows upon it; the people are just like grass! But even though grass withers and the flower fades, the word of our God stands strong forever!”
Isaiah 40:3-8 TPT
Clear out the rocks and debris. Restore the ancient, perfect, austere and simple pathway to the Cross. It’s humble and straightforward. It does not need decoration or external commentary. My path and My Word are all that are required to get to the foot of the Cross and seek and receive salvation. It’s not complicated as many have made it. It doesn’t require theological degrees or fancy explanations. All it requires is an honest heart seeking the truth. All it requires is humility to seek and receive forgiveness. All it requires is laying your whole life down and recieving My gift of eternal life, which comes with purity, righteousness and restoration.
This is the place where I restore you back to original intent. This is the place where personal destiny is reset and revived. This is the place where the past can no longer reach you, because I have created a chasm that doesn’t allow the accusations and guilt of those former days to have any bearing on how I see you. You may have to practice shedding those old thought patterns and behaviors. It may require work to rid yourself of the residue of them, but the stain and the guilt of those former days and ways are cut off and left behind in a place that cannot reach you and cannot impact the way I see you.
Go up on a high mountain, you joyful messengers of Zion, and lift up your voices with power. You who proclaim joyous news to Jerusalem, shout it out and don’t be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!” Look! Here comes Lord Yahweh as a victorious warrior; he triumphs with his awesome power. Watch as he brings with him his reward and the spoils of victory to give to his people. He will care for you as a shepherd tends his flock, gathering the weak lambs and taking them in his arms. He carries them close to his heart and gently leads those that have young.
Isaiah 40:9-11 TPT
This is how great a salvation. This is life perfectly made new. It’s time for my people to clear that path, make straight the way for all those who desire a seat at my table, so all those who seek me can find me. You make the path clear, and I will set the banqueting table.
How to Respond
- Ensure that you are not believing or putting forward any requirements for salvation that Jesus did not set out in Scripture. All He requires is acknowledgement of our sin, belief that He is the sinless, spotless Lamb of God who came to Earth as a man to be the perfect substitutionary sacrifice for our sin and confession that He is the Savior who you are inviting to be Lord of your life.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You are drawing many to the foot of the Cross right now. Help me to do my part to clear the path, to make it straight and level so all who want to come are able. I desire to remove the obstacles that have littered the path to You. Show me what You need me to do.
- Declare, narrow is the path and straight is the way to the foot of the Cross. All who seek Him will find Him, all who knock will have the door opened to them. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Him.
- Decree, this is a time of a great simplifying and clearing the way to the Cross. Every excess requirement that does not line up with Scripture will be removed. Every false doctrine will be removed from the path and destroyed. I will do my part to clear the path so any who want to come have a clear, straight, level path to the foot of the Cross of Christ.
