Today’s Reading:
2 Thessalonians 1
Song of Songs 2

‘May God’s delightful grace and peace rest upon you. We point to you as an example of unwavering faith for all the churches of God. We boast about how you continue to demonstrate unflinching endurance through all the persecutions and painful trials you are experiencing. All of this proves that God’s judgment is always perfect and is intended to make you worthy of inheriting the kingdom of God, which is why you are going through these troubles.’

2 Thessalonians 1:2,4-5

The Spirit of the Living God says,
Trust in Me. Remain in Me. Burrow yourself deeper into Me. Come hide away in Me. Come and take shelter in Me. I will give you rest. I Am the Source of all peace. Great potential is inside you. Greatness beyond its seed form — in the bud form is already inside of you and rising. Cling to Me, and I will raise you higher. Lean on Me, and I will get you there. Your trust in Me will take you across uncertain, very bumpy terrain.

‘Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me.’

Song of Songs 2:13

The worst is coming, but I will lead you through it. I will lead you to the other side. Trust in Me. Rest in Me. Cling tightly to My hand. I will shield you from the high winds. I will protect you from the flying debris. I will shelter you from the storm. But you still have to walk through it. Hold on tightly to My hand, and we will do it together. I will lead you out to the other side. Even as we traverse this rocky, uneven terrain in the midst of the high winds and the storm, you will see the sun breaking through the clouds. You will see the promise of a new day, and not just a new day but a new kind of day just ahead.

‘With this in mind, we constantly pray that our God will empower you to live worthy of all that he has invited you to experience. And we pray that by his power all the pleasures of goodness and all works inspired by faith would fill you completely. By doing this the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you will be glorified in him, by the marvelous grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. ‘

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

To refuse the storm is futile. To refuse the storm is to live in denial about the storm. That will position you differently in the storm and in the new day. Both are coming. Don’t live in denial. You have the bud of greatness inside of you. Choose to walk through the storm with Me. Choose to greet the new day and the new kind of day with Me. Let’s go through it together.

How to Respond

  • Choose to hold onto the Lord and take shelter in the Lord come what may.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You are My instructor, comforter and guide. Thank You that all things are possible with You, in You and through You. I can see that we are heading for a big storm. Help me to position myself in You and hold on to You regardless of what I see, feel and hear.
  • Declare, the Lord is my refuge and strength. He’s a very present help in times of trouble. I have nothing and no one to fear, because The Lord Jesus, My Savior and King has already overcome the world.
  • Decree, I will cling to the Lord and hide myself in the Lord. I will find the Lord as my stronghold and shelter during this impending storm. I will not be shaken, moved or thrown off-course because my heart, my times and my future are in His hands.
