Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 ESV
I heard the Spirit of the Living God of Truth say,
Choose this day whom you will serve. Righteousness is assembling even as wickedness continues to rule and do its wicked business. Righteousness is departing from amongst the wickedness and separating itself unto Me.
If favor is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he deals corruptly and does not see the majesty of the Lord. O Lord, your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people, and be ashamed. Let the fire for your adversaries consume them. O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. O Lord our God, other Lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone we bring to remembrance.
Isaiah 26:10-13 ESV
The wicked are completely oblivious that the times have changed, that the season has changed, that the day has changed. They are unaware of the separation taking place, and they are unaware that as the righteous come out from among them they are exposed and vulnerable in My sight. The righteous are no longer running cover or positioned as soft targets among the wicked. They have come out and are even now trickling out from among them. This separation makes for a clear and easy judgement. This separation will allow My smoke to consume the wicked.
According to their deeds, so will he repay, wrath to his adversaries, repayment to his enemies; to the coastlands he will render repayment. So they shall fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come like a rushing stream, which the wind of the Lord drives. “And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the Lord.
Isaiah 59:18-20 ESV
This is a time of recompense. This is the time of My fierce anger coming for those whose hearts are dark and whose wickedness has been a cancer infiltrating My peoples of the Earth. My fierce anger has been kindled, and I will bring heavy judgement on the wicked — those who have led My little ones astray, those who have put a hand on My children in perversion or violence. I have seen it all. And My wrath will appear like a great steamroller over the wicked who can’t even see that they have left themselves exposed as the righteous and the innocent have departed from their midst.
Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by. For behold, the Lord is coming out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it, and will no more cover its slain.
Isaiah 26:20-21 ESV
This is a sober time. This is a time to bow low in humility, reverence and awe before the Lord your God. This is a time to be hidden amongst the righteous, as I repay all that the enemy has stolen and burn up the scepters of the wicked, burn up the edicts of the wicked and remove their vast resources from their reach. Come out from among them. Come out from among them.
How to Respond
- Sit with the Lord and ask Him what separation from the wicked looks like in your life.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You see it all. Thank You that Your Spirit is leading a mass exodus from among the wicked, causing them to be exposed and vulnerable. Help me to be rightly positioned before You — doing the work You’ve called me to do and living in awe and humility before You.
- Declare, Open the gates that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. For He has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. (Isaiah 26)
- Decree, I will be found hidden in amongst the righteous. The Lord will repay wrath to His adversaries and recompense to His enemies. I will look on and see the recompense of the wicked, because they will be paid back for what they have done. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in You.
