Today’s Reading:
Romans 5
“Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!”
Romans 5:1-2 TPT
The Spirit of the Lord says,
The lost ones have hearts that are crying out, reaching out in longing and deep desperation. They can’t medicate it. They can’t find it in therapy. They can’t buy it. They need to kneel. They need to bring their hearts and lives to the altar of recognition. It is the place of divine drawing. It is the place of divine revelation to one’s own heart that causes the recognition for the need of a Savior, the One and only Savior who can save you.
“And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us! For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves. Now, would anyone dare to die for the sake of a wicked person? We can all understand if someone was willing to die for a truly noble person. But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly! And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in my sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God. So if while we were still enemies, God fully reconciled us to himself through the death of his Son, then something greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, and because we share in his resurrection life, how much more we will be rescued from sin’s dominion! And even more than that, we overflow with triumphant joy in our new relationship of living reconciled to God—all because of Jesus Christ!”
Romans 5:5-11 TPT
This heart cry of desperation and need, of longing unfulfilled and guilt that can barely be carried is weighing down the masses. It is dragging society down and through the mud. One’s own attempts to deal with this baggage, with this heart’s cry has led to many dead ends. No redemption, no relief exists outside of the shed blood of Jesus.
The blood of Jesus brings the relief, lifts the weight and completely washes over and refreshes the soul. What the lost need, what the weighted down masses need is the altar of recognition and the shed blood of Jesus. They must come. To come they must be drawn to the place of humility. The altar of recognition is where the grace exchange happens. This is the place to do one’s heart business, one’s soul business with the God of the universe. Come to the altar of recognition. There, you will see clearly the reality of your own condition. I Am the only remedy. Jesus is the only answer, the only key to unlocking freedom, relief, forgiveness and sparkling, dazzling brand new life.
“When Adam sinned, the entire world was affected. Sin entered human experience, and death was the result. And so death followed this sin, casting its shadow over all humanity, because all have sinned. Sin was in the world before Moses gave the written law, but it was not charged against them where no law existed. Yet death reigned as king from Adam to Moses even though they hadn’t broken a command the way Adam had. The first man, Adam, was a picture of the Messiah, who was to come. Now, there is no comparison between Adam’s transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime. It’s true that many died because of one man’s transgression, but how much greater will God’s grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflow to many because of what one man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us! And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “Not guilty!” Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah! In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus’ sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all. One man’s disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners. So also one man’s obedience opened the door for many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to him.”
Romans 5:12-19 TPT
Come to the altar of recognition and be born afresh. Be born anew. Be born again. Leave those old weights and that heart’s cry of desperation right here at the altar of recognition. Your every longing will be filled. Your every need will be met. You will be made whole, pure, acceptable and accepted. You will be brought into the living family of God, and you will be taught to reign and rule with Me. You will learn to walk in My ways and follow Me closely. Your whole life will change. Your whole life will be a story of My grace. Make your way to the altar of recognition. It is the place of the great exchange.
How to Respond
- If you already know Jesus and have met Him at the altar of recognition for the grace exchange that brings salvation, spend time in worship and thanksgiving for that and pray for those who still need to come.
- If you are carrying around the weight of the world, regret, fear and spiritual longing, it’s time to do business with Jesus. Bring Him all of your sin, pain, anger, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness and regret. Recognize that He is the One who paid the price for all of that already on the Cross. Recognize that you can’t get yourself into a better condition by any means other than Him.
- Pray, Jesus, I am a man/woman in need of help and a Savior. I have sinned, and I need Your rescue and relief. I need You to show me how to live. I need You to be my God — the One who leads me and is Lord of my life. You are the only One who can. Thank You for choosing to suffer Your horrific death on a cross as a substitute for me. Because of You, I can live. Thank You for defeating death with Your glorious resurrection. I want to rise with You to new life.
- Declare, Jesus is Lord of all. He is my Savior, my Redeemer and my reward. He is the King of my heart. Every knee shall bow, and every heart shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
- Decree, I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. The Lord is drawing many hearts to the altar of recognition, and they too will be saved.
