Psalm 144
I love you, Yahweh, and I’m bonded to you, my strength! Yahweh, you’re the bedrock beneath my feet, my faith-fortress, my wonderful deliverer, my God, my rock of rescue where none can reach me. You’re the shield around me, the mighty power that saves me, and my high place. All I need to do is to call on you, Yahweh, the praiseworthy God. When I do, I’m safe and sound in you— delivered from my foes!
Psalms 18:1-3 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I’ve made you into a resilient prince. What once would have crushed you now rolls right off of your back. What once would have felt like a sharp blow to the face is now a passing breeze. It’s My Spirit that surrounds you. It’s My strength inside of you. It’s My full armor protecting you. And it is my Word of Truth rising up from your heart and being spoken from your lips. My heart of compassion is inside of you, and My bold word of faith is coming forth from your lips.
God, all at once you turned on a floodlight for me! You are the revelation-light in my darkness, and in your brightness I can see the path ahead. With you as my strength I can crush an enemy horde, advancing through every stronghold that stands in front of me. Yahweh, what a perfect God you are! All Yahweh’s promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in you, the wraparound God.
Psalms 18:28-30 TPT
The war is not meant for your destruction, though the enemy hopes for that. The war is your training ground, your proving ground, your strengthening and endurance building ground for reigning. When you learn to see clearly in war, you can see clearly in the light of day. When you train your ears to hear me amidst the chaos, screeching, booming and noise, you can hear Me on any day. I have instilled you with the heart of warrior, and you are meeting every battle that comes your way. Remain in the fight. Continue to advance, and when you have done all to stand, stand. You are an occupying force. You are one whose birthright and commission is dominion. You are seated with Me in heavenly places to reign and to rule, to bring order to the chaos and beauty from ashes. Continue to advance in the war. Continue to reign alongside Me from this up higher place.
Could there be any other god like Yahweh? For there is not a more secure foundation than you. God, you have wrapped me in power and made my way perfect. Through you I ascend to the highest peaks to stand strong and secure in you. You’ve trained me with the weapons of warfare-worship; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You empower me for victory with your wraparound presence. Your power within makes me strong to subdue. By stooping down in gentleness, you made me great! You’ve set me free, and now I’m standing complete, ready to fight some more!
Psalms 18:31-36 TPT
This is a holy war, and you are learning to take joy in the battle, to relish in the fight as you advance and rule and reign with Me. Dominion is your portion. Success is your portion. Reigning as a valiant warrior king who passionately loves Me is your portion. The battle is not your enemy. The battle is the domain in which you wield your spiritual weapons of warfare, and as you do the battle becomes the place of your dominion. At the end of every day, valiant warrior, I’ve made it so you can say, I’m still standing.
How to Respond
- Remain close to the Lord. Train your eyes and ears to see and hear Him clearly in the midst of the war.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for surrounding me. Thank You for Your voice and presence inside of me. Thank You that You go before me, behind me and You are my wraparound shield. Help me to advance in the full armor of God. Help me to remain full of Your Spirit and truth. Continue to teach me how to wield the spiritual weapons of my warfare and rule and reign with You.
- Declare, There is only one strong, safe, and secure place for me; it’s in God alone and I love him! He’s the one who gives me strength and skill for battle. He’s my shelter of love and my fortress of faith, who wraps himself around me as a secure shield. I hide myself in this one who subdues enemies before me. – Psalm 144:1-3
- Decree, I am a resilient prince. I am one who the Lord has prepared for battle and who is valiantly staying in the war. I wear the full armor of God and keep His word in my heart. I am learning to rule and reign with Him from the up higher place He has provided for me, and I am making this battlefield become the place of my dominion. Victory is my portion. Success is my portion. Dominion is my portion in the Lord.
