Romans 8
And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “Not guilty!” Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah! In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus’ sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all.
Romans 5:16-18 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living God from whom all blessings flow say,
Grace drops are falling and gathering and turning into a torrential downpour of grace. My grace is coming down, and it will drench those who desire it and those who are unaware of it. It will pool around their ankles, and it will rise into waist deep floodwaters of My grace. Everywhere you look you will see people wading in waist high and then chest high waters of My grace. Then it will envelop them completely. It will overtake them, and the people will be swimming, delighting in the tremendous and inescapable floodwaters of My grace.
And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us! For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves. Now, would anyone dare to die for the sake of a wicked person? We can all understand if someone was willing to die for a truly noble person. But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly! And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in my sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God. So if while we were still enemies, God fully reconciled us to himself through the death of his Son, then something greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, and because we share in his resurrection life, how much more we will be rescued from sin’s dominion! And even more than that, we overflow with triumphant joy in our new relationship of living reconciled to God—all because of Jesus Christ!
Romans 5:5-11 TPT
The people haven’t known what life is in this abundance, this overabundant outpouring of my grace. They will move freely and gleefully in it. They will abandon matters that once seemed pressing to just enjoy and play like children in this unexpected, overflowing, overwhelming outpouring of My grace. Flood waters of My love will accompany that grace. The grace is gentle, and the love is powerful and moves like a mighty river. The power, the sheer force of My love will hit people and take their breath away. It will astonish them, and they will say, we never realized this love existed. We never realized this love was for us, that we had equal access, open access to this love. And many will camp out in the powerful flow of My love. They will have no interest in moving, and they will refused to be moved — except by My love, except through My grace and except with My Spirit.
The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
Romans 8:14-16 TPT
Days are coming that don’t make sense in the current construct. People will no longer be moved by conventional wisdom. They will move and be moved by the flow of My grace, by the power of My love and the unseen impulses of My Spirit. Days of understanding and planning as usual are being washed away in the rains and rising floodwaters of My grace. What will be left is the internal life that moves in My grace, powered by My love at the impulses of My Spirit.
How to Respond
- Hold loosely to every plan and permit yourself to be moved by the outpouring of the Lord’s grace, the power of His love and the impulses of His Spirit.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that I live in a time where I can experience Your tremendous overwhelming grace, the power and tangible nature of Your love and move and make decisions — not by human understanding, but by the impulses of Your Spirit. Help me to yield to the reality of the new thing that You are doing and not cling to the old, not leaning on my own understanding.
- Declare, Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. — Proverbs 3:5-6
- Decree, I will let go of needing to understand and needing to plan. I will allow myself to enjoy and delight in the overwhelming grace of God for my life in this time. I will camp out at the powerful fountain of His love, and I will not be moved, except by His love, except by the impulses of His Spirit. I will see many who have not known or even dreamed of the love of God be washed, made whole and fully overwhelmed by His saving grace and His perfect love.
