Today’s Reading:
1 Peter 2
”So abandon every form of evil, deceit, hypocrisy, feelings of jealousy and slander. In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life — especially now that you have had a taste of the goodness of Yahweh and have experienced his kindness.“
1 Peter 2:1-3 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God says,
I’ve come for the highest place. I’ve come for the highest place in your heart, and I want you to tear down every desire, every ambition, every love that keeps Me from first position in your heart. It’s your job to tear down the strongholds in your heart. It’s your job to tend the garden of your heart. You are meant to be awash with peace in the midst of the storm. But I have to be first, and your garden must be well tended. This is not a time for things to be out of order in your life. This is not a time to tolerate personal chaos and disorder in your life. This is time to have your house and your heart and your priorities in order as a captain would prepare a ship as it enters a great storm. Out of order things in a ship during a storm bring destruction and damage. So too will having disorder in your heart, life and priorities bring trouble. Get things in order. Get rid of what does not belong, and secure all that needs to be secured.
”So keep coming to him who is the Living Stone —though he was rejected and discarded by men but chosen by God and is priceless in God’s sight. Come and be his “living stones” who are continually being assembled into a sanctuary for God. For now you serve as holy priests, offering up spiritual sacrifices that he readily accepts through Jesus Christ. For it says in Scripture: Look! I lay a cornerstone in Zion, a chosen and priceless stone! And whoever believes in him will certainly not be disappointed. As believers you know his great worth—indeed, his preciousness is imparted to you. But for those who do not believe: The stone that the builders rejected and discarded has now become the cornerstone“
1 Peter 2:4-7 TPT
This is not a time for frivolity. It is a time for sharp focus, for undeterred focus. It’s time to be busy about your Father’s business. Be busy and dedicated to the work I have put in your hands. Ask for refreshing. Come to the place of refreshing and refueling in Me, and I will provide you with the strength, energy and power to push through. If you turn and hide in Me, if you look to Me to supply your every need, you will not grow weary in well doing. You will rise up instead as on eagles’ wings and soar to heights you have never seen. You know eagles do well in storms. You know eagles relish in the adverse winds of storms. Eagles can get farther faster, because they instinctively know how to use the contrary winds of the storm to advance farther and faster than they could in the calm.
Lean into Me. Count on Me. Press into Me deeper still, and you will find I supply your every need. You will find I Am the source of all joy, life, love and peace. You will not be drained by the storm but supernaturally recharged and enabled to soar — if your Source is correct, if your life, house and priories are in order. Do your part, and look to Me alone. All other ground is sinking sand.
”But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world. For at one time you were not God’s people, but now you are. At one time you knew nothing of God’s mercy, because you hadn’t received it yet, but now you are drenched with it!“
1 Peter 2:9-10 TPT
I’m calling you to soar, to advance and to be fierce ones with great power, vision and success in this great storm. It is all possible in Me and through Me. Don’t get scared by the waves and the storm. Don’t look to the wisdom of men. Stay laser-focused on the One who holds the whole world in His hands, and your success and advancement will be astounding to see. When the sun breaks through and the storm clears, you will be light years advanced in your calling.
How to Respond
- Trust the Lord and get your house in order.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Show me what needs to be shifted in my life to get my priorities in place. Show me what I need to toss out, so that I can move well and undisturbed through the storm. Help me to draw nearer to You and hear Your voice more clearly.
- Declare, the people of the Lord can be at perfect peace and make great advancements during the storm.
- Decree, I will fix my eyes on the Lord, come what may. I will make sure He has first place in my heart. I will lean deeply into Him and His Word for refreshing, wisdom, energy and peace. I will be securely held fast in the storm. I will rise up to great heights and make rapid and supernatural advancement during the storm as I stay busy about My Father’s business and place all my trust and hope in Him.
