Today’s Reading:
Psalm 95
Matthew 10
Luke 12
”Now, remember, it is I who sends you out, even though you feel vulnerable as lambs going into a pack of wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes yet as harmless as doves.”“
Matthew 10:16 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God says,
My grace is dropping into hearts for a knowing. This grace is giving My lovers eyes to see beneath the surface. It is bringing a new level of discernment that will help you to be as innocent as doves but as shrewd as snakes. I haven’t left you out here in the pasture as sheep with no perceptive abilities, with no instinctive impulses, with no ability to protect yourselves. Don’t ignore the feeling and power of repulsive reactions, of warnings that drive you away from a person or a situation. I have put it inside of you to know when to run away from traps and danger. Fresh opportunities are coming your way, and it will be important to know which ones are for your benefit, and which ones will bring a sting, pain and loss. Listen to My voice inside of you. Listen and see with the grace I have given you to discern. Don’t ignore your gut. Don’t ignore your heart. Don’t ignore that feeling of attraction or repulsion to an opportunity or person. These are all important clues and cues for how you are to respond.
”“Every servant who knows what pleases his master yet does not make himself ready and refuses to put his master’s will to action will receive many punishing blows. Every servant who does not know his master’s will and unwittingly does what is wrong will receive a less severe punishment. For those who have received a greater revelation from their master are required a greater obedience. And those who have been entrusted with great responsibility will be held more responsible to their master.”“
Luke 12:47-48 TPT
Missed opportunities will come back looking more attractive, and they will carry double the weight of responsibility that they did to before. Listen to My voice inside of you. Don’t react. Don’t jump in or run away without hearing My voice. Unexpected opportunities that meet your heart’s desires will come. Lean in to those. Be filled with joy at those. Reject what the cultural narrative says. Protect them and receive them with great joy. In this time of transition, clean up even hard to perceive messes. Clean up messes that spilled out when you were trying to protect yourself. This will be important to do to maintain healthy leadership in your home in the time and place of transition. These messes look harder to clean up than they actually are. And finally, trust your instincts and your learned experiences when it comes to old enemies. Those who are guard dogs and watch dogs who carry the characteristics of weasels are multiplying. Be on guard. Keep them at arms’ length and don’t let them into your ranks no matter how sincere or innocent they appear.
”Come and kneel before this Creator-God; come and bow before the mighty God, our majestic maker! For we are those he cares for, and he is the God we worship. So drop everything else and listen to his voice! For this is what he’s saying: “Today, when I speak, don’t even think about turning a deaf ear to me like they did when they tested me at Meribah and Massah, the place where they argued with me, their Creator. Your ancestors challenged me over and over with their complaining, even though I had convinced them of my power and love. They still doubted my care for them. So for forty long years I was grieved and disgusted by them. I described them as wicked wanderers whose hearts would not follow my ways or keep my words. So I made a vow in my anger and declared, ‘They will not enter the resting place I’ve planned for them!’ So don’t you ever be hard-hearted or stubborn like they were!”“
Psalms 95:6-11 TPT
This is a season of blessing and opportunity and desires fulfilled. But it is mixed with opportunities and people who have it out for you or could lead you down a wrong path. Discernment and wisdom are key. Hearing my voice is key. Trusting My voice inside of you will lead you to delight, will help you keep short accounts and will keep you from being bitten by your enemies. Don’t refuse to listen to My voice. That will only bring you pain.
How to Respond
- Draw near to the Lord.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for a fresh grace of discernment and heightened awareness of Your voice. Help me to hear and heed Your voice quickly and fully. Help me to walk or run away from the opportunities and people that are not aligned with You or Your will for my life. And help me to seize with great delight the opportunities and people that do. Help me to be as innocent as a dove and as shrewd as a snake in this time. Help me to keep short accounts and keep my heart and home clean from messes in this time of transition.
- Declare, the Lord is the author of all wisdom. His plans and ways are perfect, and He leads us into all righteousness.
- Decree, I will walk closely and intimately with the Lord my God. I will not take on opportunities or responsibilities that the Lord warns me to leave behind. I will not bring people into the fold who the Lord warns me are enemies. I will seize the opportunities and the unexpected joys of heart’s desires fulfilled — no matter what culture has to say about it. I will walk humbly and uprightly with the Lord my God, and I will heed His voice fully and quickly when He speaks.
