Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 26
Psalm 91

4 “Trust in the Lord forever,
For in [c]God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.
5 “For He has brought low those who dwell on high, the unassailable city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He casts it to the dust. 6 “The foot will trample it,
The feet of the afflicted, the steps of the helpless.”

Isaiah 26:4-6 NASB 1995

The Spirit of the Living God says,
Hold onto faith amidst doubt. Hold onto faith with a strong unbreakable grip. You will learn things that break your heart. You will learn things and see things and be told things that defy understanding. Horrors and dark secrets will start spilling out that cause you to tremble, that cause you to shudder, that cause you to weep. You will be at a loss. This is a time to fall to your knees, to humble yourself and pray. Above all, hold on with a relentless, unbreakable grip to your faith. Hold onto faith. It will see you through the dark time.

8 Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Lord,
We have waited for You eagerly;
Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls.
9 At night [d]my soul longs for You,
Indeed, [e]my spirit within me seeks You diligently;
For when the earth [f]experiences Your judgments
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
10 Though the wicked is shown favor,
He does not learn righteousness;
He deals unjustly in the land of uprightness,
And does not perceive the majesty of the Lord.
11
O Lord, Your hand is lifted up yet they do not see it.
[g]They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame;
Indeed, [h]fire will devour Your enemies.
12 Lord, You will establish peace for us,
Since You have also performed for us all our works.

Isaiah 26:8-12 NASB 1995

Hold onto faith. It will cause you to fall to your knees instead of stumbling backwards and slipping into sin and unbelief. Hold onto faith, and it will guide you forward. It will lead you up and out of the despair, out of the extreme horrors that you can’t unknow, unlearn or unsee. It will bolster your heart and your knees. And it will guide you forward toward the light — toward bright days of righteousness.

Horrors untold will be exposed. They will start seeping out, and the blackness — the black inky darkness that many have never seen will be shown to everyone. Everyone will see this heavy darkness that is evil, that is pure disgusting, incomprehensible evil. You can’t have a cleanup without a mess being exposed. You can’t have resolution, judgment, justice and restitution without the injuries being exposed. This is that time. It is for the victims. It is for the evil criminals whose lust for pain, torture, blood and murder knows no end. And it is to heal the soul of a nation and the nations of the world.

20 Come, my people, enter into your rooms
And close your doors behind you;
Hide for a little [q]while
Until indignation [r]runs its course.
21 For behold, the Lord is about to come out from His place
To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity;
And the earth will reveal her bloodshed
And will no longer cover her slain.

Isaiah 26:20-21 NASB 1995

It’s time for a house cleaning, and it starts below the house from the place which the evil is being exposed. The evil will be exposed. Even now it seeping out from beneath the house. Hold onto faith with all you have and all you are. With a grip that cannot be broken, hold onto faith. It will guide you through the exposure and revelation of darkness you have never known.

How to Respond

  • Hide yourself deeply within the Lord. Recount His faithfulness. Bolster and build up your most holy faith.
  • Pray, Lord I don’t have to fear what is coming because I have hidden myself under the shelter of Your wings. Lord, if we need a cleanup, please expose the mess. Lord, protect our minds and hearts from trauma as we learn, see and hear about horrors and evils unspeakable. Lord, I ask that You help us to hold onto faith and to fall to our knees in faith. Keep us from stumbling backwards Lord. Bring justice, restitution and recompense where it is due. Only You can.
  • Declare, great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. Our Lord is the all-seeing, all-knowing, ever-present God. He is God with us, and He is the God who fights for us. Justice and righteousness are the foundations of His throne, and the increase of His government knows no end. He is the only perfect judge who extends justice and mercy in perfect measure. Lord, You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
  • Decree, I will hold firmly, unwaveringly and relentlessly onto my faith as the reality of evil seeps out into the public view. I will shelter myself in the wings of the Most High. I will lift my hands in worship. I will offer a sacrifice of praise. I will trust in the Lord my God and cling to faith, even as darkness is exposed. I will be one who is found on my knees, holding onto faith, trusting in my God come what may.
