Today’s Readings:
Psalm 30
Isaiah 42

22 But this is a people plundered and robbed,
trapped in holes and hidden in houses of bondage.
They are like prey that no one will rescue,
like spoil with no one to say, “Bring them back!”

Isaiah 42:22

The Lord says,
It’s time to rediscover fun. It’s time to find new ways to delight your soul and feel alive again. It’s time to take off the cocoon that that you have been wrapped in – in this season of pain and growth and isolation. It’s time to break out and seek adventure. It’s time to find ways to thrill your heart and revitalize your imagination.

3 You brought me back from the brink of death,
from the depths below.
Now here I am, alive and well, fully restored!

Psalm 30:3

Get out of the rut you have been driving through. The rut is bringing you down, making you tired and weary. The rut feels like a Groundhog Day existence. Break out. Get outside. Connect with new people. Push yourself to do something new, to try something new. Then do it again. Push yourself to break out of the rut, out of the routine, and find new inspiration. Be energized. Be filled with fresh breath and fresh life.

16 I will walk the blind by an unknown way
and guide them on paths they’ve never traveled.
I will smooth their difficult road
and make their dark mysteries bright with light.
These are things I will do for them,
for I will never abandon my beloved ones.

Isaiah 42:16

You don’t have to be the way you’ve always been or do what you’ve always done. Pursue reinvention if it delights you. You can literally just be different or do something different. Come away with Me. Dream with Me. Let’s dream together and go on adventures together. Sit with Me and see what I stir up in your heart. See what ideas and hopes and dreams you find there. Some may be forgotten, some may be brand new, some may be so outrageous that you try to discard the thought immediately. What if you don’t discard the thought? What if you hold onto it, incubate it and let it give you new life?

9 Don’t you see that what I have prophesied has come to pass?
And now I am foretelling the future.
I declare it to you before it sprouts up.”
10
Sing to Yahweh a brand-new song!
Sing his praise until it echoes from the ends of the earth!
Sailors and sea creatures, praise him!
Islands and all their inhabitants, sing his praise!

Isaiah 42:9-10

It’s time to drive forward in pursuit of new vitality. This life is meant to be lived fully and expressed boldly — not hidden away, quiet, sleepy and dull. Pursue Me, and seek fresh inspiration. Seek fresh hope. Ask to dream again. Push yourself out to experience new things. The first time is the hardest. Scare yourself a little. Be willing to push past fear to wild, exhilarating, joyful abundant LIFE. It’s time to live again.

11 Then he broke through and transformed all my wailing
into a whirling dance of ecstatic praise!
He has torn the veil and lifted from me
the sad heaviness of mourning.
He wrapped me in the glory-garments of gladness.
12 How could I be silent when it’s time to praise you?
Now my heart sings out, bursting with joy—
a bliss inside that keeps me singing,
“I can never thank you enough!”

Psalm 30:11-12

Pursue laughter. Shake off the vestiges of the difficult things that cling to you. Yes, difficult things remain, but they don’t need to define you or this season. You can dance through difficulty if you choose to. Strip off those circumstances that are trying to define you, and live outside of them. Live in the reality of them but not under their power. You can live outside of them, separate from them, and above them.

Come away with Me, and I will show you how to dance through this season. Choose fun. Choose adventure. Choose new rightful identity in Me, and choose life so abundant that it makes people sit up and take notice. Turn yourself into the inspiration story.

How to Respond

  • Shake up your routine. Force yourself to do something out of the norm, just for the sake of fun.
  • Invite others to join you in your pursuit of adventures.
  • Make time to daydream with the Lord. Ask Him to give you fresh inspiration, to revive dreams and to give you one step that you can take toward thrilling your soul and finding new vitality.
  • Declare, the Lord has given me an amazing life, and I will dance, laugh and pursue wild dreams to have the abundant life of adventure that my heart craves. I refuse to leave anything on the table.
