Today’s Reading:
Psalm 139
Hebrews 12

You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me!
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I heard the Spirit of the Sovereign Living God say,
Bitterness must cease. Striving must cease. Envy and comparison must cease. Leave them at the foot of the Cross. These are self-wounding weapons. They destroy you by your own hand. That’s not what I have for you. Pick up instead the fruit of the Spirit that will nourish your being. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control — these are the nutrients, the minerals, the essential resources that will empower your life for victory, that will supercharge your life for the days and the war ahead.

As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us. We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Don’t eat the fruit of bitterness any longer. Pick up the sweet fruit of the Spirit and let it nourish and heal you. Let My love heal you. The choice is yours — the curse of the poison fruit that brings self-inflicted wounds or the healing, life-giving, super-charging fruit that empowers your being for victory.

So consider carefully how Jesus faced such intense opposition from sinners who opposed their own souls, so that you won’t become worn down and cave in under life’s pressures.
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Choose who you will serve and how you will serve. Will you serve the wounds of your past in bondage and servitude to them? Or will you serve Me in complete freedom, well-equipped to run the race of destiny I have marked out before you? The choice of the master is yours. The choice of the nourishment is yours. The choice of the posture of heart is yours. Humility is the way to victory. By repentance and rest, you will be saved. Don’t get hung up on the injuries, insults and even blunt force trauma of your past. Leave it at the foot of the Cross, and pick up the elements you need there that will bring healing. Healing starts and finds its full completion in My love.

How to Respond

  • Pray, Holy Spirit come and search my heart. Show me every place that is not healed and submitted to You. I want to leave all bitterness, pain and trauma behind, so I can effectively run the race of destiny You have marked out for me.
  • Declare, He who the Son sets free is free indeed. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
  • Decree, I release all bitterness. I release my right to offense, and I let go of every painful memory and thought that I have been holding onto all this time. I lay it down and pick up instead the love of the Lord that heals every wound and empowers me for my destiny. The Lord has planned it to be for my good and not for calamity, to bring me a future and a hope. I will serve Him in freedom all the days of my life.
