Today’s Reading:
Psalm 84

84 How lovely are Your dwelling places,
O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Psalm 84:1-2

The Lord says,
Choose Me. Choose My heart. My will. My way. Choose Jesus. Choose change, submission, humility and My grace. Choose new life. The landscape is changing. The season is changing. It’s neither healthy nor proper to hold on to the the equipment and the clothing of these that are passing. The terrain is changing underneath your feet, and the season is changing before your eyes, so is the time. The essentials of who you are remain the same, but your assignment, your profession, your external identity may require change in these days.

5 How blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
In whose heart are the highways to Zion!
6 Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a spring;
The early rain also covers it with blessings.
7 They go from strength to strength,
Every one of them appears before God in Zion.

Psalm 84:5-7

Excitement and adventure awaits in this new place and this new season that requires new identity. Be willing to leave old identity, titles, structures and schedules behind to come fully ready and fully open into this new season. These are days that require trust. They require faith. They require a willingness to walk away from current callings and roles for totally new, unfamiliar ones. This is a time of dramatic change in the landscape, in the season and in your life. Change is available to you in fresh, stark and even monumental ways. Walk toward it. Change and opportunity will present themselves before you, tangibly and obviously. New and unusual doors will be available for you to walk through. Change is happening all around us, and change is coming to you. Walk confidently with Me, in Me, and you will not need to fear making the wrong choice. You will feel My Presence surround you. You will feel My pleasure and my grace on some doors and not on others, on some big opportunities and not on others. This isn’t unknowable. This is life in the Spirit.

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord gives grace and glory;
No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
How blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Psalm 84:10-12

Sometimes faith is just doing what you have to do — making the decision that is the obvious next step. Sometimes I will come in and interrupt the obvious. It’s My good pleasure and delight to disrupt the ho hum and the mundane, to breeze in with something more exciting. But sometimes, I do just plant it there obviously sitting right in front of you. So walk closely with Me. Attune your ear to My voice, your heart to My prompting. Life in the Spirit is adventure and the unexpected. Change is coming, and change is here.

How to Respond

  • Draw closer to the Lord. Lean in and make the effort to understand His ways of speaking to you. They will become a lifeline and a treasure.
  • Pray, Lord, show me how to attune my ears and heart to hear you. Give me moments and ways to practice hearing you. Help me to have the boldness and faith to follow You into the new opportunities and change that You are making available. Thank You for being a God who loves adventure and offers for me to live in adventure and fulfillment too.
  • Declare, the Lord is the author of times and seasons. He is bringing us now into a new terrain and new season filled with opportunity and change.
  • Decree,
  • I will walk closely with the Lord and attune my ears and heart to hear Him.
  • I will choose to take off those titles, identities and even professions that the Lord is calling me to leave behind, as He presents new, very different and exciting opportunities.
  • I will not be intimidated by unexpected, totally different opportunities.
  • I will walk boldly and confidently through the doors that the Lord causes His Presence, pleasure and grace to rest upon.
