Today’s Reading:
1 John 3
“The beautiful message you’ve heard right from the start is that we should walk in self-sacrificing love toward one another. This is how we have discovered love’s reality: Jesus sacrificed his life for us. Because of this great love, we should be willing to lay down our lives for one another. If anyone sees a fellow believer in need and has the means to help him, yet shows no pity and closes his heart against him, how is it even possible that God’s love lives in him?”
1 John 3:11, 16-17 TPT
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Choose grace. Give yourself grace and extend grace to those you encounter. Grace is an attribute of love. By extending grace you extend love. By being generous with your grace, you are being generous with your love. Extend grace. Extend it to yourself and to those around you. This is a start of grace and love buffering those rough edges, covering over those mistakes and making life and relationships peace-filled.
“Beloved children, our love can’t be an abstract theory we only talk about, but a way of life demonstrated through our loving deeds. We know that the truth lives within us because we demonstrate love in action, which will reassure our hearts in his presence.
1 John 3:18-19 TPT
Your grace attracts My peace. Watch as you give yourself grace or extend it to another. Watch how My peace comes in and settles on the moment, the situation, the issue. Your grace, your gift of grace attracts My glorious peace. These are key elements for how the household of faith can thrive and live in abundant joy with no trace of strife. Allow grace to be a generous byproduct of your love — for yourself and for one another. Allow the generous gift of your grace to attract My peace, and watch as life is filled with peace, with light, with favor, with laughter and with ease. It starts with love. The key is grace. The bonus is peace. This is life in the Spirit. This is the life that’s available to all in the household of faith. It all starts with love.
“So these are his commands: that we continually place our trust in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and that we keep loving one another, just as he has commanded us. For all who obey his commands find their lives joined in union with him, and he lives and flourishes in them. We know and have proof that he constantly lives and flourishes in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.”
1 John 3:23-24 TPT
Abide in Me, and your love will be full. Abide in Me, and you won’t be easily drawn off track. Live in My love, and love will be easy for you to access and extend. Surround yourself, immerse yourself in My love and the living acknowledgement of My grace, and you will model it effortlessly. It will become reflexive if you remain in Me and I in you, if you live in gratitude and in the place of recognition of My generous grace poured out all over your life.
At every moment since you were born My grace has covered you. Live in that reality. Become a beautiful reflection and model of that reality, and peace will be your reward. Favor will be your reward. Light will shine all around you. Live in love. Choose grace. Receive peace. It’s that simple.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord, show me how to live so immersed in Your love and Your generously poured out grace that the love I have for myself, my family, friends, neighbors and strangers goes out with a great gift of grace. Allow me to be a living example of love and grace, so that I attract your peace and favor to my life and home, to my job and every situation of my life.
- Declare, God is love. Grace and favor are His gifts to us, and He is the Prince of Peace.
- Decree, I choose love. I choose to give myself grace and to extend grace to the people around me. I am abiding in the love and generous grace lavishly poured out on me by the Lord God Most High, so I have access to His perfect love and perfect grace. The way I love myself and others, the way I extend grace to myself and others will attract the Lord’s peace and will cause peace to come to my body, my household and every place I go.
