Song of Solomon 2
“My beloved is to me the most fragrant apple tree— he stands above the sons of men. Sitting under his grace-shadow, I blossom in his shade, enjoying the sweet taste of his pleasant, delicious fruit, resting with delight where his glory never fades. Suddenly, he transported me into his house of wine— he looked upon me with his unrelenting love divine.”
Song of Songs 2:3-4 TPT
The Spirt of the Lord says,
I’m your companion. Build your life with Me. Desire to be with Me. Care for My opinion and My voice above all others. This is the way of lovers. Be one who deeply loves Me. Be one who walks out on water to Me. Leave the boat. Leave the boat. I will not let you drown. I’m positioning you for great exploits, for great adventures — to live a life that is overflowing with great stories of adventure with Me, of My faithfulness, of the impossible happening before your very eyes, even at your own hands through My power that lives with you. I’m your companion. Build and design your life in partnership with Me. Make where I Am your favorite place to be. Stir up your love and affection. Stir up your desire. Stir up those covenantal vows and desire greatly to be with Me, to never part from Me.
“Revive me with your raisin cakes. Refresh me again with your apples. Help me and hold me, for I am lovesick! I am longing for more— yet how could I take more? His left hand cradles my head while his right hand holds me close. I am at rest in this love. Promise me, Jerusalem maidens, by the gentle gazelles and delicate deer, that you’ll not disturb my love until she is ready to arise.”
Song of Songs 2:5-7 TPT
With Me you can storm a troop. With Me you can dance before kings. With Me you can roar with the power and ferocity of a lion. There’s nothing we can’t do. Desire to live in a daily dance with Me. Make Me the song in your heart and ever on your lips. Above all, desire to be with Me, to walk with Me, to remain in My Presence and to never leave My side. Lock your eyes to Mine, and allow the world to pass you by as you live preoccupied with your king, your companion, the one that you love above all others. Life will call, but invite Me to do it with you. Invite Me into every moment, every concern, every problem and every celebration. Make Me your constant companion, your partner, your guide and the apple of your eye.
Build your life on Me and with Me. I Am here for you, and My desire is to be with you. Take your eyes off of your worries and set your gaze on Me. Watch as those concerns melt away. Watch as those very real questions get answered in My Presence, by My Presence — even when you’re not looking at them or fixated on them.
“Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me. For you are my dove, hidden in the split-open rock. It was I who took you and hid you up high in the secret stairway of the sky. Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice. How beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer. You must catch the troubling foxes, those sly little foxes that hinder our relationship. For they raid our budding vineyard of love to ruin what I’ve planted within you. Will you catch them and remove them for me? We will do it together. I know my lover is mine and I have everything in you, for we delight ourselves in each other.”
Song of Songs 2:13-16 TPT
Set your gaze on Me. Long to be with Me. Prioritize your time with Me. Linger in My Presence. Desire Me above all else, and all of these other things will be added unto you. Watch what I do when your eyes are set on Me and not problems, worries or concerns. Watch what I do when your eyes are locked on Mine. Walk in joy. Be filled with My peace. My love is here for the taking. Come, sit, dwell with Me. Let the world pass you by for a little while.
How to Respond
- Re-order your day to prioritize time in the Lord’s Presence. Carve out extra time to be able to linger with Him. These are sweet days of easier access to His Presence.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. I want to be with You. I desire to make You my constant companion. I want to build my life on You. Help me to retrain myself to fix my gaze on You, not on fear, worries, doubt or problems. Thank You that You already know all that concerns me, and You hold the answer to it all.
- Declare, the Lord is inviting His people to draw near to Him, to sit and linger in His Presence, to reprioritize our lives, making Him our companion, the one upon whom our eyes are fixed and the one upon whom we build our lives.
- Decree, Lord, I want to be with You. You are my companion. I will fix my gaze on You. I will prioritize Your opinion and Your voice above all others. I will build my life on You.
