“I long to drink of you, O God, to drink deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you! My soul thirsts, pants, and longs for the living God. I want to come and see the face of God. Day and night my tears keep falling and my heart keeps crying for your help, while my enemies mock me over and over, saying, “Where is this God of yours? Why doesn’t he help you?””
Psalms 42:1-3 TPT
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Pour your heart out before Me. Let it flow like a river. Let the inner thoughts, longings and hurts of your heart flow like a river to Me.
My Spirit gushes forth from you as a mighty uncontainable river. Men can be buoyed by the current of My Spirit as it flows from you. My Spirit will lift people up as it flows from you. My Spirit will keep people afloat as it flows from your heart freely.
Open your heart. Open the tap of your heart, and as you open yourself up to Me, My Spirit will open up within you. Truth begets truth. Your bringing truth opens up the passageways for the Spirit of all truth to flow like a flood and to gush out as river in which others can ride, can be refreshed, can drink afresh.
“Here I am depressed and downcast. Yet I will still remember you as I ponder the place where your glory streams down from the mighty mountaintops, lofty and majestic—the mountains of your awesome presence. My deep need calls out to the deep kindness of your love. Your waterfall of weeping sent waves of sorrow over my soul, carrying me away, cascading over me like a thundering cataract. All through the day Yahweh has commanded his endless love to pour over me. Through the night I sing his songs and my praises to the living God.”

Open up the tap of your honest, deep, real heartfelt longings, and I will open up the tap of My Spirit to flow like a mighty unstoppable river through you. Your tap is connected to My tap. Your opening is connected to My opening. Your truth is connected to My truth. As you let it flow in honesty and humility to My throne of grace, so will the tap of My Spirit open wide to flood your life with righteousness, with grace, with truth and with the solidity of My Presence. My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in your weakness. Open up the tap of your longing, your weakness, your hurt, disappointment and desires. Allow yourself to open them up, and allow them to flow to My throne. I will open up the tap of My Spirit of living water, My river of life, My Spirit and send you revelation, Presence, answers, understanding and truth like you have never known.
“Pour into me the brightness of your daybreak! Pour into me your rays of revelation-truth! Let them comfort and gently lead me onto the shining path, showing the way into your burning presence, into your many sanctuaries of holiness. Then I will come closer to your very altar until I come before you, the God of my ecstatic joy! I will praise you with the harp that plays in my heart to you, my God, my magnificent God! Then I will say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged; don’t be disturbed, for I fully expect my Savior-God to break through for me. Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again.” Yes, he is my saving grace!”
Psalms 43:3-5 TPT
Open the tap to the depths of your heart. Allow yourself to speak to Me in full truth. My response will overwhelm you. My goodness will overtake you, and My mercies will continue to rise anew with the dawn every morning. Give it all to Me, and I will pour out grace, goodness, love and mercy, revelation, wisdom and understanding. I will pour out truth — all through the flood of My Spirit in your life. It will be for you, and it will be a great blessing to those around you.
How To Respond
- Lay your life and your heart openly and honestly before the Lord.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Help me to see the truth of my own heart. Help me to bare it all before You and trust You with the healing, the answers, the grace I need. As I do that Lord, respond to me. Respond by opening up the tap to the river of Your Spirit to flow through me. I want to hear Your voice, understand Your ways and see what You see Lord.
- Declare, Great is the Lord and mighty to save. He sees the deep longings and hidden hurts of our hearts and He wants to move to heal, to restore and to bring fulfillment to these places.
- Decree, I will hold nothing back from the Lord my God. I will bare it all in honesty before Him, so that I can be overwhelmed with the rushing river of His love, His Spirit, His truth, His revelation and His goodness. I will be a home and a powerful conduit for Holy Spirit. I will allow Him to flow through me by holding nothing of myself back from Him.
