Today’s Reading:
Joshua 14
9 So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God fully.’
Joshua 14:9
The Spirit of the Lord says,
I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. I Am holding you up, and I Am leading you out farther — farther from what you know, farther from what is comfortable, farther from the familiar, farther from the known. It is toward the future. It is toward passion, energy, vibrancy and light. I Am leading you toward a different life. I’m leading you toward a different lifestyle than you are accustomed to living. I’m leading you to a different lifestyle of faith. I’m leading you to a lifestyle of greater faith, greater adventure — one that brings life, abundant life. From the outside it looks as though you have been in a holding pattern. This has been a time of purifying, of cleansing, of really wiping the slate of expectations clean. It’s been a time of deep personal growth, of growth in faith and faithfulness.
10 Now behold, the Lord has let me live, just as He spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel walked in the wilderness; and now behold, I am eighty-five years old today. 11 I am still as strong today as I was in the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for war and for going out and coming in.
Joshua 14:10-11
Now I Am pulling back the sling and launching you into unfamiliar territory. It is a land of abundance, a land filled with milk and honey. It is a land still populated with giants. I Am sending you to the Promised Land. I Am sending you to the place where desires are fulfilled and promises come to fruition. But it is a place, a territory you will have to boldly occupy. It’s a place where you must run into the fight to take back the right.
12 Now then, give me this hill country about which the Lord spoke on that day, for you heard on that day that Anakim were there, with great fortified cities; perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I will drive them out as the Lord has spoken.”
Joshua 14:12-14
13 So Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.14 Therefore, Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite until this day, because he followed the Lord God of Israel fully.
You must go and fight to take back the deed of ownership, but I Am going with you. I will fight for you, and I will faithfully deliver you to victory because of your faithfulness. You have desired the hill country. Let’s go take the hill country. Let’s take it for you and your family, for future generations. Let’s take it for My glory. Trust in Me. Walk with Me. Lean into Me. Hear Me, and run out boldly and faithfully as I meet you in your heart’s desire. It’s time to take the hill country. You will delight so greatly in the victory.
How to Respond
- Determine to trust in the Lord, come what may.
- Follow His voice and leading, even into the unknown and the seemingly impossible.
- Pray, Lord come close. Help me to hear Your voice and find Your Hand to hold. I only want to go where You go, where You lead. I trust You with my future and my family Lord. Help me to boldly occupy the place you send me to receive as my inheritance.
- Decree, I will go where the Lord leads. I will run into the fight as He guides, and I will take what He has for me. I will walk and live faithfully in trust, partnership and submission to the Lord my God.
