Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 59
Isaiah 60
Hebrews 12
John 16
Their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, Devastation and destruction are in their highways. They do not know the way of peace, And there is no justice in their tracks; They have made their paths crooked, Whoever treads on them does not know peace. Therefore justice is far from us, And righteousness does not overtake us; We hope for light, but behold, darkness, For brightness, but we walk in gloom.
Isaiah 59:7-9 NASB1995
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
Stormy days are ahead, and the clouds and winds and seas are even gathering and kicking up now. Put your trust in Me. Put your faith in Me. Tumultuous days are ahead. Trust in Me now, and hold steady your trust in Me then. Days that will rattle your teeth are coming — days that cause you to feel as if darkness has enveloped you and has even seeped around your heart. Your connection with Me is the most important thing, the most valuable thing, and the way to navigate through it. You will feel the darkness. You will feel the weight of the oppression that has been present and active and merciless for many, many years.
See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Hebrews 12:25-27 NASB1995
This great darkness has come to the surface, it has come to visibility and recognition to be dealt with. You can’t demolish that which you don’t perceive. You can’t destroy that which you don’t know exists. The darkness is being exposed to be destroyed. Remember that. Hold firmly to Me. I Am the Rock on which you stand, your firm foundation and your anchor that will always hold. So do your part, and keep your grip firmly, tightly around me. I will not let go. Neither will you. This is a command.
Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 12:28-29 NASB1995
Turmoil is being kicked up, and I have called you to stand firm. I have provided a means for you to not be shaken in the shaking. I have provided means for you to be an anchor and a pillar of truth on which for others to cling. Do not give into the shaking, and do not let go.
Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Isaiah 60:1-3 NASB1995
As the darkness becomes thick as tar, you are to rise and shine brighter and brighter and brighter until the new day comes. Even there you will shine brightly, but it will take your powerful discipline and an ongoing act of your will to shine, to believe in Me, to trust My Word and My voice in the midst of this shaking and the inky, thick black darkness that is being brought to the surface. This is that time. The earth is causing these things to surface. It is releasing and bringing these things to the surface right now, in this time.
How to Respond
- Reestablish your trust and anchor to the Lord. Purify your heart.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You for being my comforter and my guide. Thank You for being the voice inside of me and behind me saying, this is the way, walk in it. Help me to do the hard things you call me to do. Help me to choose faith, to cling to You and to refuse to be overwhelmed and overcome by the darkness that is surfacing and will emerge in the days ahead. I want to be a life raft and a pillar for those in need — because of my position and faith in You.
- Declare, These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. — John 16:33 NASB1995
- Declare, I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will exult in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise To spring up before all the nations.
— Isaiah 61:10-11 NASB1995 - Decree, I will not be shaken in the shaking. Though the darkness surrounds me, I will not be overcome. I will rise and shine with the help of the Lord — my Rock, my anchor and my firm foundation. I will cling in faith to Him — to His Word, His voice and stay on the path He has called me to walk. As the darkness gets darker, I am committed to getting brighter and brighter through Christ Jesus who lives inside of me.
