Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 5
18 Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood,
Isaiah 5:18-19
And sin as if with cart ropes;
19 Who say, “Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it;
And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near
And come to pass, that we may know it!”
The Lord says,
Fill your heart with anticipation, faith and encouragement. Strengthen yourself in Me. What you are about to witness is going to look like a performance. When you witness it you will know that I orchestrated it, and I caused it to happen.
You will see the exceedingly large elephant sitting quietly in the room, minding his business and caring for himself. And then a rat will disturb this sitting elephant, and all kinds of chaos will ensue. The rat will run around and taunt elephant. All the while, the elephant will tear down the house as he tries to destroy the rat. So much destruction and chaos will be stirred up that broadcasters will have to address the elephant in the room. They will have to address the destruction that this elephant has caused and the ridiculous way it was left to sit there, self-focused while no one acknowledged his existence.
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Isaiah 5:20-23
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight!
22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine
And valiant men in mixing strong drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!
The absolute ridiculousness of both the elephant and the lack of recognition of the elephant will cause a mighty rage in the people. As the rat stirs things up, and the media is forced to speak the truth — some of the truth, a touch of the truth — the people will be stirred up with an unquenchable rage at the great obstructive sheet that kept them from seeing the elephant in the room and at the lying liars who insisted with derision, vitriol and earnest declarations that THERE WAS NO ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM. They mocked those who pointed at the elephant. They spurned and name called and fact-checked those ones who pointed to the very obviously real elephant in the room. These paid lying liars will be booted from the seats of influence and power because of their lies. The people will not stand idly by any longer and pay to be lied to and mocked.
9 In my ears the Lord of hosts has sworn, “Surely, many houses shall become desolate,
Isaiah 5:9
Even great and fine ones, without occupants.
The elephant in the room will bring down the house. It will destroy institutions as it is agitated and forced out of its quiet self-focused stance. It will take the house down. Watch as this elephant turns from his destruction on the left and sets his sights on destruction of the right.
16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment,
Isaiah 5:16
And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.
17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture,
And strangers will eat in the waste places of the wealthy.
The elephant in the room, once provoked by a rat, will take many down with him — on the left and then on the right. Those who stand for truth will remain.
