Today’s Reading:
Joel 2
Psalm 27
Deuteronomy 32
Then I will make up to you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; Then My people will never be put to shame. Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, And that I am the Lord your God, And there is no other; And My people will never be put to shame.
Joel 2:25-27 NASB1995
I heard the Spirit of the Living God say,
I Am the Magnificent Redeemer, and I will redeem the time. I will redeem all that the locusts have eaten — the creeping locust, the swarming locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust. Be anchored in Me. Be in firm, immovable belief that My hand is at work. I Am calling you to firm trust, to stubborn, anchored immovable belief that I Am with you, I Am for you, and I Am working on your behalf. Let your position be that some trust in chariots, some trust in horses but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God. Be an immovable warrior who is deeply rooted in Me, whose trust is unshakeable.
He found him in a desert land, And in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.
Deuteronomy 32:10 NASB1995
Then the Lord showed me a desolate place, and in this barren place I saw a tree, firmly planted and all alone. But the roots of that tree had a cool, plentiful source of water, deep below the surface. And the tree can drink fully and freely at all times though everything around it looks bleak.
Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!
Psalms 27:14 TPT
I will not fail. I use the bleakness. Stay planted firmly. Drink deeply from the hidden source of Me. I will cause you to flourish in the barren place. I will make you to prosper in the bleak surrounds. Quiet your heart. Stand relentlessly firm, and drink deeply from My wellspring of living water. I can prosper you in a barren place. And I Am.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord thank You that regardless of what is happening or not happening around me, I can prosper because of You. Help me to stand firm and to drink deeply from You, my source and strength, the eternal wellspring of living water.
- Declare, I am like a flourishing olive tree, anointed in the house of God. I trust in the unending love of God; his passion toward me is forever and ever. – Psalm 52:8
- Decree, I trust the Lord with all of my mind, heart, soul and strength. I will not be moved from my trust in Him. I will drink deeply from His wellspring of living water. He is the source of my strength and refreshing. I will prosper even in a dry and barren place, because the Lord my God provides total nourishment for me.
