Today’s Reading:
2 Corinthians 9
James 1
”Here’s my point. A stingy sower will reap a meager harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest. Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity! Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything —every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do. Just as the Scriptures say about the one who trusts in him: Because he has sown extravagantly and given to the poor, his kindness and generous deeds will never be forgotten.“
2 Corinthians 9:6-9 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God says,
I love a cheerful giver. I love the heart of one who reflects the giving, encouraging, supporting heart of The Father. Giving comes from My heart. It comes from the heart of God. Every good and perfect gift flows down from the Father of Heavenly Lights. I will provide your every need. And often that gift will pass through the hands of willing vessels, willing servants, willing gift givers. The heart of the cheerful giver knows what it is to delight in being one who surprises, who offers a timely gift, who stuns with generosity. The reward of a giver is very much in part seeing the delight in the heart of the one who has received. The greater reward comes as a result of My own delight in seeing Myself, My ways, My heart and My prompting beautifully reflected in action.
Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life! [23] If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. [24] You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin. [25] But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!
James 1:22-25 TPT
Prepare a good gift. Abide in My peace. Abide in My rest. Sit quietly in My Presence. And trust. Some days, some moments you are called to be the giver. Other days, other moments you are called to receive. Do both cheerfully. Do both with joy, with gratitude and thanksgiving. Do them both with awe of your Father in Heaven who set the gift in motion and saw fit to bring it through your hands or to your hands.
Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. [18] God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of his infallible Word so that we would fulfill his chosen destiny for us and become the favorite ones out of all his creation!
James 1:17-18 TPT
Can’t you see? I love working with you. I love partnering with you, and I love surprising and delighting you. I love seeing your obedience and watching how that changes your heart, how it softens rough edges and makes you able to see more clearly. Your partnership is how we build My Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. Your partnership, your yes to Me, your submission and taking on My easy yoke will reap a great harvest, will reap a great reward. Wherever you are, whatever moment or circumstance, situation in which you find yourself — yield, submit, step into My easy yoke right alongside Me. I will carry the heavy load. Partner with Me, and we will carry a great work forward that reaps a stunning, beautiful, astounding reward.
How to Respond
- Delight yourself in the Lord.
- Obey His prompting quickly and fully.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Help me to step fully into Your easy yoke, so I can be in lockstep partnership with You. I want to be one who sees things the way You see them and one who responds according to Your heart.
- Declare, the Lord God Almighty, is the giver of every good and perfect gift. He fulfills our every need. He is the God of yes and amen. He is the Lord of the Harvest and the God in whom there is no lack. He is the super-abundant God who loves to partner with His children to accomplish His will.
- Decree, I will yield and submit to the Lord. I will step fully into the easy yoke He has for me, so I can walk in total partnership with Him. I will not run ahead or lag behind. I will delight in the opportunity to give, and I will receive His gifts through the hands of men and women with gratitude and thanksgiving. I will be part of building His Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.
