Psalm 62
“My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.”
Psalms 62:5-6 NASB1995
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Trust in Me. Trust in Me to guide you, to lead you. As you trust that the sun will rise and shine, trust that I will be your guide. My heart is for you, and I Am the always-reliable one. I Am the ever-faithful one. Just as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, so is My love unfailing, so is My faithfulness completely trustworthy. I will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in Me. Count on Me. Have more faith in Me, more belief in Me than in the ground beneath your feet. I Am the rock solid unchanging one, the ever-present, ever-reliable one. Who else can you look to for security, for reliability, for faithfulness? I Am the firm foundation, the rock on which you stand. I Am the unchanging one. I Am the stability of your times. When all else is uncertain, I remain. Whom or what shall you fear?
I Am the fixed point when the whole world totters and sways. I Am the one upon whom you can set your affections, your trust and your hope. I Am the one who never lies, leaves, fails or disappoints. Trust in Me to provide the path to the next day, to the new day. When everything around you changes, you can trust in Me, you can rely on Me. You can keep your eyes locked on My face, My goodness, My promises.
“On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
Psalms 62:7-8 NASB1995
For many who have not chosen wisely, the ground beneath their feet is unsteady, uncertain, shifting and changing. They can’t look to the future, because everything upon which they have built their lives is not guaranteed. Everything upon which they founded and staked their future is crumbling, deteriorating — it wavers and vacillates, it changes with the tide of public opinion. It changes with waves of popularity or swings in the stock markets. But you built your future upon the rock. You staked your future, your life, your hope in the immovable, unshakable King, whose Kingdom is even unshakable. Whom or what shall you fear? You can run forward with no hesitation, with no concerns about what tomorrow will hold, because your feet are set on the firm path. It may not always be visible, but it is dependable and rock solid. I Am the Rock upon which you stand. Everything around you changes, but your foundation is secure, your path forward is secure — whether visible or not, you can trust that I will not let you fall.
“Do not trust in oppression And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them. Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God; And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work.”

The road will indeed rise up to meet you. I Am faithful, unchanging and unshakeable. Yours is to walk in holy confidence, in ease and assurance that I will do what I said I will do, that I Am who I say I Am. Yours is to boldly and confidently walk and run and roam in this unshakeable Kingdom. Explore it. Take the instructions I have placed in the map of your heart and go. Don’t sit back and wonder. Take up the instructions and wander, explore, roam and run. I have given you all the land beneath your feet — every place the soles of your feet tread are yours. Go out in confidence. Go out in joy. Enjoy. Enjoy. Laugh at tomorrow, because your life is built on the solid, the true, the immovable, unshakable Rock — in whom there is no shifting shadow. Rest in Me. Trust in Me, and run.
How to Respond
- Relinquish fear and firmly, squarely place your trust in the Lord.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Help me to get in the habit of trusting You so well that I don’t sidestep into fear or worry. Help me to be one who boldly and confidently — without hesitation — moves to the sound of Your voice and goes at the prompting of Your Spirit. Let me rely on no one else as deeply as I rely on You.
- Declare, the Lord God Almighty is the Rock upon which I stand. He is my firm foundation. He never lies, never loses, never leaves and never fails. He is the stability of our times and the only sure One in whom we can place our complete and total trust.
- Decree, I will trust in the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. I won’t lean on my own understanding. In all my ways, I will acknowledge Him, and He will make my path straight.
