Today’s Readings:
Psalm 92
Psalm 112-113
Revelation 22
“For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.”
Psalm 112:6-8 ESV
The Lord says,
Stay firmly planted. Stay immovable. Though the circumstances are straining and the landscape is bleak, hold fast in this place I have called you, planted you, watered you and grown you. I will uproot you in due course. I will transplant you into the bigger place, the wide open spacious place that I have prepared for you when the moment is right — when you reach the right size and strength and when the soil there is fully ready. Those two moments will happen in quick succession.
“No one can be compared to God, enthroned on high! He stoops down to look upon the sky and the earth. He promotes the poor, picking them up from the dirt, and rescues the needy from the garbage dump. He turns paupers into princes and seats them on their royal thrones of honor.
Psalms 113:5-8 TPT
You are so fidgety because the place you have been planted is even drier than it has been, and the place is feeling tight and constraining. The place is feeling stifling, and the elements have not lessened. Here in this dry place, you have withstood extreme winds of adversity. You have withstood a long arduous drought. You have withstood bleak, cold winter nights and extremely hot, unshaded summer days. Look how strong you have become. This weathering of your soul is My glory. This growing ground, training ground, strengthening ground has built you up and established your root system in a way that nothing else could have done. It has made you dig very deep looking for the wellsprings of Me. It has made you strong, flexible and immovable. ALL of this has been serving you, serving your future and serving the purpose I imprinted on your soul before the beginning of time.
“Yes! Look how you’ve made all your devoted lovers to flourish like palm trees, each one growing in victory, standing with strength! You’ve transplanted them into your heavenly courtyard, where they are thriving before you, for in your presence they will still overflow and be anointed. Even in their old age they will stay fresh, bearing luscious fruit and abiding faithfully. Listen to them! With pleasure they still proclaim: “You’re so good! You’re my beautiful strength! You’ve never made a mistake with me.”
Psalms 92:12-15 TPT
I will soon plant you in Goshen — in the beautiful land, in the prosperous land, in the set aside and protected land for your flourishing — where the soil is rich with nutrients and water is not scarce. I will bring you out of this dry place, and I will plant you in the place I have prepared for your acceleration, your thriving, your extraordinary fruitfulness and prosperity. It will be like water to your life and healing to your soul. It won’t be long now. I see that the dry barren place you are in has nearly completed its task. I can see that your branches and roots are holding firm and strong. You have even managed to produce a beautiful, very sweet crop of fruit in this place, in this barren place — one that has provided nourishment, encouragement and great delight to those who found you here.
“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, flowing with water clear as crystal, continuously pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb. The river was flowing in the middle of the street of the city, and on either side of the river was the Tree of Life, with its twelve kinds of ripe fruit according to each month of the year. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. And every curse will be broken and no longer exist, for the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there in the city. His loving servants will serve him; they will always see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.”
Revelation 22:1-4 TPT
You can’t see it, but you have actually grown to great heights. You may have been a little twiggy thing when I planted you here, but you are towering like a great mature apple tree, and you are providing shade and cover for many. Though it seems to you that you are dry and lifeless, you are in fact glowing and radiant, exuding technicolor life. Though you feel dry and naked, you are actually covered with beautiful astonishing leaves of healing and fruit that nourishes, revives and inspires and brings recovery. What you see is not what I see. And I will indeed take you from this barren place and plant you in a suitable well watered garden of your own. It will be as Goshen to you; and you will grow, accelerate and extend your reach seemingly overnight. Press in. Hold on. Refuse to give up. Refuse to back down. Yours is to push through and keep pushing. I will do My part too.
How to Respond
- Trust in the Lord. Put all of your hope in Him.
- Recount the Lord’s faithfulness in your life.
- Pray, Holy Spirit come. Gird me with Your strength and show me how to push through the final moments you have called me to be in this desert place. Help me to finish my time in the wilderness well.
- Declare, the Lord has planted many in the desert, barren place for a season to strengthen, deepen and grow them. He will soon begin to transplant these ones from the wilderness into a place of acceleration, blessing, expanded reach and thriving.
- Decree, I will stay firmly planted until the Lord moves me. I will continue to weather the wilderness until He brings me into my Goshen.
