Today’s Reading:
Psalm 27

”Yahweh is my revelation-light and the source of my salvation. I fear no one! I’ll never turn back and run, for you, Yahweh, surround and protect me.“

Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The Spirit of the Living God says,
Trust Me in the mountains You face. Trust Me in the rocks and boulders over which you climb. I Am faithful, and I Am here. I never leave you nor forsake you, no matter how dire and desperate things look, no matter how wonderful and victorious things look, I Am here. The mountains lead to the hill country and then to the plains. You must tread this treacherous landscape and overcome these giant obstacles to get to the place of sure footing. This is a place of total reliance upon Me. This is a place where every step requires a check in with Me.

”Here’s the one thing I crave from Yahweh, the one thing I seek above all else: I want to live with him every moment in his house, beholding the marvelous beauty of Yahweh, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to contemplate in his temple. In the day of trouble, he will treasure me in his shelter, under the cover of his tent. He will lift me high upon a rock, out of reach from all my enemies who surround me. Triumphant now, I’ll bring him my offerings of praise, singing and shouting with ecstatic joy! Yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh!“

Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Do you see how I Am training you for the places where you can move more freely, with more assurance? I Am using the mountains, the cliffs, the rocky places and the boulders to ingrain dependence in you. One false move here and you will have a spectacular fall. This kind of terrain trains your muscles, your mind and your heart. It trains your eyes, your hands and your feet. It trains it all to be attuned to My promptings, My nudging, My voice, My word, My instruction. Do you see how your confidence in Me has been building all this time? As you rely on Me, your confidence in Me has grown and expanded, because I have not failed you in your time and place of need. This treacherous landscape is training you to trust, rely and depend on Me. I Am training your instincts, your reactions and the way you respond. We are building fibers that lean to trust and bold confidence rather than to fear.

”Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!”

‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭TPT‬‬

These rocky places are also taking you to great heights that cannot be ascended to or achieved in the hills or the plains or the lowlands. They can only be reached in this treacherous way. There is no elevator to the top of this mountain. I Am bringing you there to conquer. The conquering here — on this mountain, in this rocky place — is self. The conquering here is victory over fear, over what ifs, over doomsday scenario-ing, worst-case and fall back planning. Victory here is over self-reliance, man’s wisdom and the fear of man. You are being stripped free of all of that, and if you continue, as you remain, you will stand victorious over your former self, your former ways, your former life. In that victory, I will reign supreme. In that conquering victory, the King of your heart is Me.

How to Respond

  • Trust the Lord your God. Lean not on Your own understanding. In all of your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.
  • Pray, Lord, help me to hold on and keep climbing. Help me to continue in the work and persist in the challenges that You have placed or permitted in my life to strengthen me and to train me in complete dependence on You. As I remain faithful, as I remain obedient, I know You will not let me falter, slip or fall.
  • Declare, this is a training season and a conquering season, where the Lord is causing me to trust completely in Him and conquer my former self, life and former ways.
  • Decree, the Lord God is the King of my heart, and in this struggle, I am making more room for Him and throwing out old habits, old ways, old mindsets, old reactions and learning to trust in Him. He is Lord of my heart and the Lord of all.
