Today’s Reading:
Matthew 16

““But you—who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked. Simon Peter spoke up and said, “You are the Anointed One, the Son of the living God!” Jesus replied, “You are favored and privileged Simeon, son of Jonah! For you didn’t discover this on your own, but my Father in heaven has supernaturally revealed it to you. I give you the name Peter, a stone. And this rock will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church—my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it!”

Matthew 16:15-18 TPT

The Spirit of the Living God says,
Live free and die well. Live in such a way that there’s nothing left to regret. Let your life be the adventure your heart longs for and your soul craves. I have made you for adventure. Live with the kind of boldness you admire in others — even those historical figures that you’ve never known. You can be that. You can do that. You don’t have to live this formulaic life. I have created you for so much more. I Am the one who put that wild heart inside of you. And I Am the one who has written the truth on the tablet of your heart.

“I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.””

Matthew 16:19 TPT

What you would your life look like if you laid down in abandon to Me? It would look like adventure. It wild look like great exploits and places and parts unknown. It would look like rising up in the authority I have given you — in the authority Jesus wrestled back from Satan through His death and resurrection — to return to your open hand.

This is a time to shake things up. My heart is for you. My heart is inside of you. You have this passion, because I have planted it inside of you. Don’t fight the desire for adventure and life more abundant. Lay down your life in full abandon before Me, and see where we go together. See where I take you. It will astonish you. If My children who are called by My Name will pick up their cross and follow Me, they will live astonished. They will live in wonder. They will live lives beyond their wildest dreams. I have not made you for a bland ho-hum life. I have made you to charge the gates of hell and so intimidate darkness that it retreats off the face of the Earth. You were made for more than this. You were made for so much more than this. Ask and I’ll give the nations to you.

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If you truly want to follow me, you should at once completely reject and disown your own life. And you must be willing to share my cross and experience it as your own, as you continually surrender to my ways. For if you choose self-sacrifice and lose your lives for my glory, you will continually discover true life. But if you choose to keep your lives for yourselves, you will forfeit what you try to keep. For even if you were to gain all the wealth and power of this world—at the cost of your own life—what good would that be? And what could be more valuable to you than your own soul?”

Matthew 16:24-26 TPT

These are days for glorious, abandoned, wild exploits with your King. These are days for adventure, for conquering, reclaiming and occupying. That’s not going to happen with a formulaic life. That’s not going to happen with wall-to-wall scheduling. Make room for your King. Make room for adventure. Make room for the unscheduled. Make room for Me. I’m taking you off of the well-traveled path. I’m taking you onto terrain untrodden and parts unknown. This is a time of pioneering, of reclamation, of staking a claim and forcing the enemy back further than he has ever been made to go. Make his retreat famous. Make history. Come off of the beaten, well-worn path with Me. I made you to conquer. I made you to reign with Me. These are days for conquering. I made you to be a conquering king.

How To Respond

  • Lay your life down in complete surrender to the Lord.
  • Pray, Holy Spirit come. Fill me up. Take me off of the well-beaten path. I long for adventure with You. I long to do great things for Your Kingdom and for Your Name’s sake. Fill me with boldness, and take me to parts unknown. I want to be one who conquers, who reclaims and who occupies for Your Kingdom.
  • Declare, Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. My God is the always victorious, conquering King. Evil stands no chance against Him.
  • Decree, I will live in surrender before the Lord. I will go where the Lord leads — into parts and places unknown for adventures that I could never have dreamed. My heart has been conquered by the Lord, and I will never be the same. I was not made for the well worn path. I was made for adventure and unexplored terrain. I was made to conquer, reclaim and occupy alongside the Lord my God and King.
