Psalm 16
Yahweh, you alone are my inheritance. You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion. You hold my destiny and its timing in your hands.
Psalms 16:5 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Unchanging Living God of Truth say,
Trust Me in your innermost parts. Don’t wait for the other shoe to drop. Walk with Me, step by step by step by step. Your trust is in the eternal. Allow your trust in Me to be in the now and for your future too. If you can trust Me with your eternity, trust Me with your tomorrow and your ten years from now and 20, 30 and beyond.
Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places. I’m overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following you! The way you counsel me makes me praise you more, for your whispers in the night give me wisdom, showing me what to do next. Because I set you, Yahweh, always close to me, my confidence will never be weakened, for I experience your wraparound presence every moment. My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory! Even my body will rest confident and secure.
Psalms 16:6-9 TPT
Life in Me is an adventure. Approach it as such. Leave the familiar settings of your mind — that grasp for control, for predictability, for long range understanding — push those aside, and approach Me, approach your future with the trust of a child. Hop in ready for fun and hang on. Your life is in My hands. Whom or what should you fear? Allow a spirit of adventure to bubble up inside you and course through your veins. This is life in the Spirit and by the Spirit. There’s no formula except full trust, full belief and full abandon because of your total love.
Because of you, I know the path of life, as I taste the fullness of joy in your presence. At your right side I experience divine pleasures forevermore!
Psalms 16:11 TPT
Walk with Me, and believe in Me for your now — your today and your tomorrow. Do it with all joy. Do it with a decided mindset of adventure, exploration and delight. I Am with you. I’ll never leave you nor forsake you, so come and enjoy the ride. Participate with the willingness, expectation and wonder of a little child.
How to Respond
- Choose to trust the Lord with your now and your future. Let go of the need for control.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You are my wraparound shield and my protection. Thank You that You go before me, and You have planned good works for me in advance. All of my days are written in your book. Help me to shed fear and unbelief. I want to walk forward with You in full trust and abandon — in delight, joy and adventure for what You have in store, because I love You.
- Declare, I will live carefree before the Lord, because He is most careful with me. 1 Peter 5:7
- Decree, I will leave my need for control and planning behind. I will walk forward in obedience and joy with the Lord, moving by the impulses of His Spirit. I will delight in adventure, exploration and blazing new trails with Him.
