Today’s Reading:
1 Chronicles 15-16
Isaiah 9
9 Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles, which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea, will be filled with glory.
Isaiah 9:1-2
2 The people who walk in darkness
will see a great light.
For those who live in a land of deep darkness,
a light will shine.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Ground breaking, earth shattering victory. Defeat will be extinguished. Defeat and the sting of defeat will be extinguished from the camp of the Lord — for the lovers of good and God and country. I Am extinguishing defeat. I Am extinguishing the rod of defeat, and it will smolder and be thrown into the camp of the enemy. Your camp will be ablaze with My glory, and their camp will not even have the fire of defeat. It will have smoking smoldering coals and ashes. The warriors from the camp of the Lord will celebrate with victory dances centered and focused on the fire of My glory, on the light of My goodness, on the immovable pillar of My faithfulness.
3 You will enlarge the nation of Israel,
Isaiah 9:3-5
and its people will rejoice.
They will rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest
and like warriors dividing the plunder.
4 For you will break the yoke of their slavery
and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders.
You will break the oppressor’s rod,
just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian.
5 The boots of the warrior
and the uniforms bloodstained by war
will all be burned.
They will be fuel for the fire.
Those in My camp have fought for right, and they will celebrate a fulsome victory, a decisive victory, a finalizing victory. And the camp of the enemy will be desolate. It will be marked by ashes and the smoldering embers of defeat. It will be a dark and desolate place, even as the camp of the Lord celebrates with raucous worship, with undignified worship, with hysterical worship. My lovers will fall over themselves under the power of My Spirit in the presence of My glory as ones drunk on wine, but they will be drunk on My presence. They will be drunk in My Spirit.
23-27 Sing to God, everyone and everything!
1 Chronicles 23-37
Get out his salvation news every day!
Publish his glory among the godless nations,
his wonders to all races and religions.
And why? Because God is great—well worth praising!
No god or goddess comes close in honor.
All the popular gods are stuff and nonsense,
but God made the cosmos!
Splendor and majesty flow out of him,
strength and joy fill his place.
28-29 Shout Bravo! to God, families of the peoples,
in awe of the Glory, in awe of the Strength: Bravo!
Shout Bravo! to his famous Name,
lift high an offering and enter his presence!
Stand resplendent in his robes of holiness!
30-33 God is serious business, take him seriously;
he’s put the earth in place and it’s not moving.
So let Heaven rejoice, let Earth be jubilant,
and pass the word among the nations, “God reigns!”
Let Ocean, all teeming with life, bellow,
let Field and all its creatures shake the rafters;
Then the trees in the forest will add their applause
to all who are pleased and present before God
—he’s on his way to set things right!
34-36 Give thanks to God—he is good
and his love never quits.
Say, “Save us, Savior God,
round us up and get us out of these godless places,
So we can give thanks to your holy Name,
and bask in your life of praise.”
Blessed be God, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Then everybody said, “Yes! Amen!” and “Praise God!”
37 David left Asaph and his coworkers with the Chest of the Covenant of God and in charge of the work of worship; they were responsible for the needs of worship around the clock.
The camps are divided. The camps have no commingling. The camps are decided. Theirs is the the camp of the enemy whose destiny is the smoldering rod of defeat. And Mine is the victorious one where glory fires, wild celebrations and undignified worship continue day and night, night and day, day and night for many many countless days. My grace is here to shatter defat. Every defeat that has befallen My camp, I will shatter; and the blazing defeat that burns oppressively over the people, I will personally extinguish and hurl headlong into the camp of the enemy. Their camp will be called defeat.
Stir up a holy confidence. Stir up a holy anticipation. I Am coming in victory, and I will shatter defeat. Sing a victory song. Sing a celebration song. Get your heart and your hopes up. Victory is inbound, and defeat will soon be catapulted back into the camp of the enemy where it belongs. Victory is inbound.
How to Respond
- Get into worship. Posture your heart in thanksgiving. Stir up hope, anticipation and the expectation that the Lord is moving behind the scenes and will soon make His presence and His actions known.
- Pray, Holy Spirit, thank You. Thank You that You are moving, and that You have decided to extinguish the defeat that we have known and under which we have suffered. Thank You that You are the one who will send that defeat right back into the camp of the enemy where it belongs. You are so good Lord.
- Declare, the camp of the Lord’s is the camp of victory.
- Decree, I and my household, we will serve the Lord. We will stir up expectation and anticipation of His mighty move. We will celebrate and rejoice in undignified worship as the Lord replaces the rod of defeat and oppression with His glory fire in our camp.
