Today’s Reading:
Psalm 18
Good people will taste your goodness. And to those who are loyal to you, you love to prove that you are loyal and true. And for those who are purified, they find you always pure. But you’ll outwit the crooked and cunning with your craftiness. To the humble you bring heaven’s deliverance, but the proud and haughty you disregard. God, all at once you turned on a floodlight for me! You are the revelation-light in my darkness, and in your brightness I can see the path ahead. With you as my strength I can crush an enemy horde, advancing through every stronghold that stands in front of me.
Psalms 18:25-29 TPT
I heard the Spirit of the Living, Warring God of Zion say,
Justice is Mine. Celebration is yours. You will see many victories. You will collect the spoils of war. The battles will be heavy, dark and tumultuous, but you are protected and covered by My grace. The shield of your faith covers you, just as the span of My wing hides you. But this is a war season. There’s no two ways about it. You will war. Warring is your portion, because warring will bring the victory. You must be actively engaged. You must advance to the front lines knowing that you are covered and protected. Go with the boldness of Esther saying, “if I perish, I perish.” These are days for bold warrior moves. These are days of My great grace being poured out on the warriors and covering the path of the warriors, providing a canopy of protection of My warriors, but you must be in the fight. These are the wars of the giants. These are the wars to take and occupy the Promised Land.
Yahweh, what a perfect God you are! All Yahweh’s promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in you, the wraparound God. Could there be any other god like Yahweh? For there is not a more secure foundation than you. God, you have wrapped me in power and made my way perfect. Through you I ascend to the highest peaks to stand strong and secure in you. You’ve trained me with the weapons of warfare-worship; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You empower me for victory with your wraparound presence. Your power within makes me strong to subdue. By stooping down in gentleness, you made me great!
Psalms 18:30-35 TPT
For so long you were blind and believed that you were in the Promised Land when you were really in the desert wilderness barely scraping by. The Promised Land is beyond your wildest dreams or imaginations, but to access it, you must war. To occupy, you must war and work. Gone are the days of outsourcing your warring. Gone are the days of just paying someone else to do the hard work for you. In this war, in this advancement for occupation, you must be in the battle, and you must stake your claim and hold your ground. No one else can do it for you. This war is for all of My lovers. All those who are called by My Name must rise and run into the battle. Don’t be hasty. Listen to My voice. You can’t win it your way. You can’t win it by human intelligence alone. You need heavenly intelligence, and you need to move at the sound of My voice, at My instruction, in My timing.
You’ve set me free, and now I’m standing complete, ready to fight some more! I caught up with my enemies and conquered them and didn’t turn back until the war was won! I smashed them to pieces and I finished them once and for all; they’re as good as dead. You’ve placed your armor upon me and made my enemies bow low at my feet. You’ve made them all turn tail and run, for through you I’ve destroyed them all! They shouted for help, but no one dared to rescue them. They cried out to Yahweh, but he refused to answer them. So I pulverized them to powder and cast them to the wind. I swept them away like dirt on the floor. You gave me victory on every side, for you make me a leader of nations. Even those I’ve never heard of come and bow at my feet.
Psalms 18:34-43 TPT
These are days of intense warfare and intense warring in many battles. You have the upper hand, because I Am with you, because I Am instructing you, because My grace goes before you and covers you. Heed My voice, and do not stay on the sidelines. Do not make excuses for why you can be a sideline warrior. Everyone must war. Everyone has a place in this fight. It is yours to lose only by disobedience, only by inaction. Courage, obedience and decisive action will see every victory. Every single victory. Don’t be lured into complacency or despair. Set your mind and heart on Me, and get into your appointed place in this fight. This is everyone’s war.
How to Respond
- Make sure your heart and mind are aligned with the Lord and you are properly positioned in the place the Lord has called you to in this time. If He is calling you to something that you have not created time or space to do — do so quickly and decisively.
- Pray, Holy Spirit thank You that You are always victorious, and You share Your victories with Your faithful ones. Adjust my positioning. Help me to know that I am in the right place. Help me to be assured of Your voice so I decisively move, speak and go at Your word. I want to be one who wars and wins with You. I want to be one who sees every victory and takes much ground in the Promised Land. I want to see giant after giant after giant fall — so much so that it becomes commonplace to see the victory over those giants that once seemed impossible to destroy. Show me what it means to occupy after the giants are destroyed. I do not want to forfeit my opportunity to reign in these places with You.
- Declare, I will be brave and very courageous. I will rejoice in the Lord always. I will see every victory, because the Lord my God goes before me, and He fights for me.
- Decree, I will be in my place in the battlefield. I will war and strike at the instruction of the Lord. I will see giants fall, and I will take much ground in the Promised Land. I will not be silent, complacent or sit on the sidelines. I will be in the war, and I will see victory after victory after victory because I am warring on the side of the Lord. I will be in company with those who open a new place, new land and new way for future generations.
