Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 41-43
43 But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob,
Isaiah 43:1-3 NASB 1995
And He who formed you, O Israel,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
3 “For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I have given Egypt as your ransom,
[t]Cush and Seba in your place.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in your weakness. My grace will amaze you. My grace will astound you. My grace will enable you to walk into lions’ dens without fear and walk out unharmed. My grace will enable you to climb mountain heights you never have even fathomed. My grace will enable you to scale walls meant to keep the people of God out, and you will enter these hidden and secure, closed-off places as a conquering king. Because of My grace you will wade deep into swampy waters and very swampy territories, and you will not be noticed by the lurking swamp creatures. You will find the key, and you will pull the plug that drains the swamp, leaving the swamp creatures trapped and exposed in the murky mess of their own making. It’s my grace that will do this. It’s my grace that will lead you into dangerous territories and get you safely out as a victorious warrior, as a conquering king.
6 “I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness,
Isaiah 42:6-7 NASB 1995
I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You,
And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the nations,
7 To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon
And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.
These are not days to play it safe. These are days where the stakes are high, the dangers are many and the traps are everywhere. Yet you are My conquering kings. You are the ones in whose hands I have placed the batons of victory. Where I lead you, My grace will join. My grace will go before you. My grace will cover you, and My grace will follow you. You will reach into places that are not only improbable but impossible to have imagined or gained entry to without My Spirit opening the doors and without My grace making the way. Don’t fear going into enemy territory. It may look to others that you are operating in great agency. It may look to others that you have left the path. But I have set you out. I have led you into dens of lions and dens of thieves to come out as a conquering king.
10 ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Isaiah 41:10-12 NASB 1995
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
11 “Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored;
Those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish.
12 “You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them,
Those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.
This is a time like when I sent out the spies into the land of Canaa. Don’t be alarmed. Don’t be dismayed. Don’t be disheartened. I Am sending many in as spies, and I will cause many to come out — as many as will listen to My voice and walk in My grace — as conquering kings. It’s time to suit up as valiant warriors. It’s time to set your face like flint and lock your eyes on Me and My purpose, My calling. It’s time to run your race with endurance, because the future depends on it. I Am inviting you to be part of the war, part of the spy team that invades enemy territory and comes out as conquering kings.
How to Respond
- Say yes to the calling of the Lord. Be quick to be obedient.
- Pray, Holy Spirit help me to hear Your voice more clearly than ever. I am willing to go where You lead, even into enemy territory. I believe in Your protection, Your guidance and Your grace. Send me in Lord, I will do what You ask me to do, and I will come out as a conquering king for Your Name’s sake, for the cause of Christ and to be one of the conquering kings who played their part to see Your Kingdom come, Your will being done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
- Declare, the Lord’s grace is covering His people. He is sending us out as spies into enemy territory, and He will give us many victories and we will emerge from those places as conquering kings.
- Decree, I will be quick to be obedient to the voice of the Lord. I will run the race He has set before me with joy and endurance. I will not allow discouragement to enter my mind or heart. I will, by the grace of God, accomplish all that He has put in my heart to do in this dark war season.
