Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 59
Psalm 82

14 Justice is turned back,
And righteousness stands far away;
For truth has stumbled in the street,
And uprightness cannot enter.

Isaiah 59:14

The Lord says,
The scales of justice are wavering in the balance. The scales of justice have been wobbling back and forth for some time now, for too long now. Those in positions to render justice have wavered between two opinions for too long. Some are weak minded, others weak of conviction, others are under immense pressure and others are waiting for the highest bid. It is a tragedy of courage. It is a tragedy of righteousness. It is a tragedy of conviction. It is a tragedy of justice.

15 Yes, truth is lacking;
And he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey.
Now the Lord saw,
And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice.
16 And He saw that there was no man,
And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;
Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,
And His righteousness upheld Him.

Isaiah 59:15-16

Ones who desperately seek and desperately need justice are left hanging in the balance while these wave tossed ones who hold the future in their hands think upon other things, focus on other things, care about other things. Where is the work ethic? Where is self-discipline? Where is the thoughtfulness, the intellectual and moral rigor? I look for it, yet all I see is the scales of justice wavering back and forth, back and forth, with no decisions and no urgency.

2 How long will you judge unjustly
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah.

Psalm 82:2

It means that many hurting ones are suffering. It means that many wicked ones roam free to continue their wickedness. It means that there is an open door, a wide open entrance to increasing wickedness, with no boundaries. It means wickedness and depravity can and have continued at an increasing rate with no limitations. Where is the justice? WHERE IS THE JUSTICE??? My children are suffering. My people are suffering. All of the people suffer except those who cause pain and lead the procession of wrongdoing. Where is the justice?

82 God takes His stand in His own congregation;
He judges in the midst of the rulers.

Psalm 82:1

I see no justice, therefore I Am rising up. I look to the left and to the right, and I see no justice. So I will do it myself. I Am rising up. (At this moment I saw a great lion dressed in kingly robes with a gold and jewel inlaid crown.) I Am rising up, and I will extend My hand to the right to bring justice. I will bring a powerful wake-up call that stirs these judges and enforcement agents from their slumber. And I will cause justice to come like a pregnant woman who is unwilling to deliver her baby. SO WILL MY JUSTICE COME! It is unwanted by the delivery agent, but IT WILL COME!

18 According to their deeds, so He will repay,
Wrath to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies;
To the coastlands He will make recompense.
19 So they will fear the name of the Lord from the west
And His glory from the rising of the sun,
For He will come like a rushing stream
Which the wind of the Lord drives.
20 “A Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the Lord.

Isaiah 59:18-20

Though justice has been wobbling, indecisive and wavering, it will once again stand firm. You will see justice standing firmly, proudly, sternly, immovably again. You will see immovable, unshakable stantions of justice throughout America and the world again, and I will do it.

How to Respond

  • Put your hope and your trust in the Lord who promises and delivers justice and mercy in perfect measure.
  • Declare, strategically placed truth seers are standing up even now, emboldened and with great courage from the Lord. The Lord is giving them utterance and they are rising up and becoming truth tellers about the corruption, wickedness, unethical behavior and schemes that they have witnessed.
  • Decree, the Lord is rising up and will deliver justice in the land despite the weakness, unwillingness and corruption of those placed to bring justice. The Lord is bringing justice.
  • Pray, Lord, cause the judges and law enforcement officers in America and across the world to wake up and recognize the responsibility they bear. We pray that they repent for their weakness, double-mindedness, insufficiency and corruption. We ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus that they will stand up and deliver true and righteous judgements — that they bring justice to the people.
