Today’s Reading:
Psalm 125
Psalm 128
Psalm 131

125 Those who trust in the Lord
Are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So the Lord surrounds His people
From this time forth and forever.

Psalm 125:1-2

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Treasure. You are My treasure and My reward. I see you as a great prize, as a trophy that marks My victory over the grave, over the world, over satan, darkness and evil. You are My prize and My reward. You are also My dearly loved, dearly cared for child, the apple of My eye, the one who makes My eyes light up and the one who makes My heart flutter. See yourself through My eyes. See one treasured, prized, fought for. See one for whom the victory has been won. See yourself as dearly loved, dearly cared for and carefully attended. See yourself as a son, as a daughter of the Most High King, for whom NOTHING is impossible.

These are days that I will be launching you out into assignments and places that you and others may deem impossible, but My grace is on it. My sending you will be the very essence of grace. I don’t send anyone out on failure missions. I always provide a way. I always provide the grace, and My grace is abundant. My grace is both the accelerant and the fuel to accomplish these things that I Am calling, equipping and launching you out to do.

128 How blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands,
You will be happy and it will be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
Within your house,
Your children like olive plants
Around your table.
4 Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the Lord.

Psalm 128:1-4

These may feel like days of many random tasks that I have put on your heart. Do them with joy, diligence and quick obedience. Later you will see how they are connected. You don’t have that vantage point yet. As you complete the tasks that I put in front of you and plant in your heart, a beautiful tapestry is being woven of which you can only see the back side. Don’t be frustrated when you feel like these many almost micro actions or completely random seeming tasks appear to be wholly disconnected and strange. You are not yet in the time or place to see the big picture. You may see small connections, but even then you can’t fathom what that connection means. It’s okay. You are still hearing My voice. You are still walking with Me. I just changed your perspective. I have not brought you to a place where you can understand what it means, because it would intimidate you. It would stun you and paralyze you. It would shut you down because of its bigness. So for now, I’m keeping it from your sight. I’m calling you to diligence and to methodical, quick acts of obedience in all of the areas that look random, strange and even irrelevant. Just be obedient. Just follow my instruction.

131 O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty;
Nor do I involve myself in great matters,
Or in things too difficult for me.
2 Surely I have composed and quieted my soul;
Like a weaned child rests against his mother,
My soul is like a weaned child within me.
3 O Israel, hope in the Lord
From this time forth and forever.

Psalm 131:1-3

I’m calling you to diligence and to methodical, quick acts of obedience in all of the areas that look random, strange and even irrelevant. Just be obedient. Just follow my instruction. Enjoy it. Enjoy it like a small child who is searching for and finding colorful plastic Easter eggs, unconcerned that they don’t have the power to open the egg and see the treats inside. They are just happy and delighted to have found and retrieved the egg. That’s the approach I want you to take in this time. Do each task with all diligence and delight. I will show you in time what it was all for, how it was all connected, and what it has created. Just trust Me. Trust and obey. Work with the lightness, joy and diligence of a determined child. We are making something beautiful. I promise.

How to Respond?

  • Trust the voice and the prompting of the Lord as it comes. Be quick to be obedient, and be diligent in the disparate tasks He puts in your hands and heart to do.
  • Pray, Lord, help me to approach this season with the heart, eyes and ready yes of a child. Help me to be so certain and so anchored firmly in You, that I don’t question whether I heard You — I just act, respond and do the task You have given me. Help me to walk in faith and not by sight, trusting that You are making something beautiful.
  • Declare, the Lord’s thoughts are higher than my thoughts, and His ways are higher than my ways. He is making something beautiful with my yes.
  • Decree, I will walk in humility, obedience and trust. I will operate with a ready yes and with the delight of a child in all of the work He calls me to do.
