Today’s Readings:
1 Samuel 30
Ephesians 6
Psalm 18
31 For who is God, but the Lord?
Psalm 18:31-39
And who is a rock, except our God,
32 The God who encircles me with strength,
And makes my way blameless?
33 He makes my feet like deer’s feet,
And sets me up on my high places.
34 He trains my hands for battle,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation,
And Your right hand upholds me;
And Your gentleness makes me great.
36 You enlarge my steps under me,
And my feet have not slipped.
37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them,
And I did not turn back until they were consumed.
38 I shattered them, so that they were not able to rise;
They fell under my feet.
39 For You have encircled me with strength for battle;
You have forced those who rose up against me to bow down under me.
The Lord says,
Rise up! Take your place. Do not sit on the sidelines. Do not hang back and let others write history. Do not wait for your salvation. Go and take it. The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force! This is a time of wrestling, standing and rising! This is a time to take what is rightfully yours. This is a Ziklag time. Do not sit here in distress. Do not cry any longer about what you have lost. Rise up! Rush forward, and go get back to get what is your birthright. Go and wrestle for your freedom. Go and let your voice be heard. Go and wield the Sword of the Spirit, conquering the reign of tyranny and the terror of occupying enemy forces.
Do not take this sitting down, and do not allow yourself to remain conquered. Rise up! The battle is here! The battle is ongoing. Do not be one who was rescued. Be one who fought! For if there are not enough warriors, who will do the fighting? Do not count on others to restore your freedoms, your rights and righteous order. Rush in like David and his mighty men. Rush in with no fear of loss or consequence. Rush in — in My power, and I will cause you to overcome. I will strengthen your hands for battle, and I will empower you to persevere until the battle is won.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:10-13
Yours is to rush in. Yours is to advance. Yours is to wrestle back what is rightfully yours. And yours is to occupy until the battle is won. You are to remain and fight until victory is declared! Rise up! Do not back bench this pivotal moment in history. Do not back bench and expect that others will go for you. Be the warrior that your heart knows it is! Cast fear and consequence aside. What have you to fear? If you do nothing, you will lose everything. Rise up! Rise up in righteous anger. Rise up and war in the spirit. You know we war not against flesh and blood but against rulers, powers, world forces of darkness and spiritual forces of wickedness in high places. It’s time to go to the high places to dismantle and cast down wickedness.
17 And David slaughtered them from the twilight until the evening of the next day; and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. 18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and rescued his two wives. 19 And nothing of theirs was missing, whether small or great, sons or daughters, plunder, or anything that they had taken for themselves; David brought it all back. 20 So David had captured all the sheep and the cattle which the people drove ahead of the other livestock, and they said, “This is David’s plunder.”
1 Samuel 30:17-20
This is not a battle that will be won by “comfortable Christians.” This is not a battle that will be won by those who only feed on Sunday. This is a battle that will be won by those who are plugged into the Power Source continually, who have been training in the secret place and eating the food of warriors for many months and years. Rise up! The spiritually weak and immature will not win this battle on their own, though they have good intentions, and many are already on their feet fighting. They need backup. They need to fight alongside the warriors who know their authority in Christ and can tear down every stronghold that the enemy has set up in attempt to fortify their position and reign.
Rise up! This is the battle you have been training for. Rise up! This is the battle that stands to recover all that was lost and much more besides. This is a time to be fearless and ferocious! This is a time to roar with an ear-splitting battle cry. Be relentless in your fight. This is the determining battle of the war you have been living through. Rush in as enlisted warriors. Rush in as volunteers. Rush in as highly trained, deadly warriors. Take back what is yours, and I will add much more to it.
How to Respond
- Rise up. Do not be silent in this hour. The Lord has declared that this is the critical battle in the spiritual war to regain freedom, righteous rule, truth, honor and justice. Ask Him what your place in the fight is. Ask Him to give you warring declarations, prayers and songs to release.
- Declare, the Lord and His army are the victorious ones. No wicked power, no evil, no enemy force will defeat Him.
- Declare, I will not tolerate the theft of my freedom, the suppression of truth, or the seizing of my nation by any demonic spirit. I bind the spirits of control, manipulation, murder and lawlessness in the Mighty Name of Jesus. And I loose the spirits of righteousness, peace, truth and love in this place.
- Pray, Lord, give us wisdom in this hour to war and to win in this spiritual battle. Let us not come to the other side of this battle and this war with any regrets of inaction or wrong moves.
