Today’s Readings:
Psalm 2
Isaiah 2
2 Why are the nations in an uproar
Psalm 2:1-4
And the peoples devising a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them.
The Lord says,
The nations rage like a sea filled with crashing waves, and they foam like a sea that is greatly unsettled. Some rage because of a great desire for war. They perceive weakness on the world stage, and they desire — they hunger and thirst for war, for power, to be exalted above other nations. But the people’s hearts are tired and angry. The people care not for war.
The people long for freedom, for the basics of a good life — for safety, healthy food, to earn a good living and to keep the money they make, to afford their expenses and to send their children to pure, moral schools with solid curriculum and upstanding, honest teachers. They want to worship Me without disruption, without harassment.
The people desire a simple and free life. The people desire for the government to leave them alone, for the government to be drastically reduced in size, in influence and power. The people desire agency over their lives again. So the peoples’ heart rage as well, and it will reach a breaking point.
10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;
Psalm 2:10-11
Take warning, O judges of the earth.
11 Worship the Lord with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.
Governments, be on notice. Wicked leaders, dictators and overreachers consider yourselves put on notice. Just as you rage for war, for control, for power, for prestige, so too the people rage for freedom, for agency and for peace. I Am with the people. I Am for the people. And the people will prevail.
12 For the Lord of hosts will have a day of reckoning
Isaiah 2:12-19
Against everyone who is proud and lofty
And against everyone who is lifted up,
That he may be abased.
13 And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up,
Against all the oaks of Bashan,
14 Against all the lofty mountains,
Against all the hills that are lifted up,
15 Against every high tower,
Against every fortified wall,
16 Against all the ships of Tarshish
And against all the beautiful craft.
17 The pride of man will be humbled
And the loftiness of men will be abased;
And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,
18 But the idols will completely vanish.
19 Men will go into caves of the rocks
And into holes of the ground
Before the terror of the Lord
And the splendor of His majesty,
When He arises to make the earth tremble.
The people will rise. The will of the people will rise like a tremendous tsunami wave that overwhelms and consumes. The sheer size of it will take your breath away. It will dwarf the institutions. It will dwarf the chaos and confusion, it will dwarf the power struggles, the lies and abuses. It will rise up like a great unexpected tsunami wave that stretches as far and as high as the eye can see, and it will engulf, overcome and overwhelm.
The will of the people WILL be done. It will prevail. It will overwhelm the violent and controlling ones. It will wipe out plans, institutions, corruption and long used back door payment mechanisms. It will wipe out schemes. It will wipe out pay-to-play. It will wipe the greedy, smug smiles off of their faces. The will of the people WILL prevail.
3 And many peoples will come and say,
Isaiah 2:3
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us concerning His ways
And that we may walk in His paths.”
For the law will go forth from Zion
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
All that will remain is freedom, is the ancient foundations, is austere governance by the people and for the people. And the people will worship, will skip, will dance, will greatly rejoice. It will be a great return to simple days, to simple ways, to simple living. To freedom.
How to Respond
- Prepare your heart for a great shift in the world as you know it.
- Declare, the Lord is absolutely good. He sees and hears His people, and He is positioning us and empowering us for an unparalleled victory that brings freedom.
- Decree, evil and corruption, wickedness, abuse and perversion will not get the final say. The Lord God Most High, King Jesus, has the final say. And He is moving to bring a cleansing, a restoration and freedom for the people.
- Pray, Thank You Lord that You hear us, You see us, You are with us and for us. Give us wisdom, instruction, courage and boldness for the days ahead.
