Today’s Readings:
Psalm 18

7 Then the earth shook and quaked;
And the foundations of the mountains were trembling
And were shaken, because He was angry.
8 Smoke went up out of His nostrils,
And fire from His mouth devoured;
Coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down
With thick darkness under His feet.
10 He rode upon a cherub and flew;
And He sped upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him,
Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies

Psalm 18:7-11

The Lord says,
I Am in the darkness. Though I Am light, I can operate stealthily in the darkness. I own the darkness and the light.

We are on the precipice — right at the razor’s edge of change. It has taken a lot of work, a lot of toiling, a lot of grit to get here to this summit, this precipice. It’s time to plant your flag on the precipice of change. You have been striving, fighting, seeking, pursuing, and now you are here. You made quick work of tearing down false altars and enemy strongholds. You dropped them down the side of this mountain. Comparatively, that was the quick and easy part. The hard part was getting here. Now worship.

18 “I love You, O Lord, my strength.”
2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
And I am saved from my enemies.

Psalm 18:1-3

Now that you are here on the precipice of change and you have cleared the strongholds of the enemy and the altars to false gods, now that you have cleared the atmosphere and staked a claim in this place, worship. Worship. On this precipice of change, strengthen yourself in worship, thanksgiving and praise, because the battle for change will meet you here.

31 For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God,
32 The God who girds me with strength
And makes my way blameless?
33 He makes my feet like hinds’ feet,
And sets me upon my high places.
34 He trains my hands for battle,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation,
And Your right hand upholds me;
And Your gentleness makes me great.
36 You enlarge my steps under me,
And my feet have not slipped.

Psalm 18:31-36

Invading marauders will try to remove your claim to this mountain and replace it with their flag of perversion and wickedness. They are barbaric ones with evil in their hearts and flesh in their teeth. The atmosphere of worship and the weapons of spiritual warfare can and will prevail if you use them with skill and authority.

37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them,
And I did not turn back until they were consumed.

Psalm 18:37

Defend this place. Defend your right, defend your ownership over the precipice of change. If you can stand firm and win this one, all subsequent battles for change will feel simple. This is the one that attains the momentum for the rest of them.

46 The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock;
And exalted be the God of my salvation,
47 The God who executes vengeance for me,
And subdues peoples under me.
48 He delivers me from my enemies;
Surely You lift me above those who rise up against me;
You rescue me from the violent man.
49 Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations, O Lord,
And I will sing praises to Your name.
50 He gives great deliverance to His king,
And shows lovingkindness to His anointed,
To David and his descendants forever.

Psalm 18:46-50

Take your place on the battlefield of change. Celebrate as if the battle has already been won. Celebration and worship are mighty tools of warfare. Rejoice, dance, laugh and sing. Join hands in unity and defend your claim to this precipice of change together, as one. Join hands in unbroken unity, in truth and in purity. And watch as I drive the enemy right off the edge of this cliff. Their own fear and confusion will send them there, just like the herd of pigs in the Gadarenes. Rejoice. You are here, right atop the precipice of change.

How to Respond

  • War from your heart with worship, with songs of overcoming, of victory, of the Lord’s breakthrough, His follow through, His grace.
  • Plant in your heart the assurance of victory and of seeing the finality of victory in this place.
  • Pray, Lord, thank You for getting us to this precipice of change. Help us to successfully defend our claim to this place and win the battle for change.
  • Declare, the Lord is faithful. He is my provision, my protection, my strength. He never loses a battle.
  • Decree, the enemy will fail in this place and in this battle and all subsequent ones. Evil strategies, plans and assignments will be destroyed. This is the end of the rule of wickedness and lack.
  • Decree, this is the beginning of jubilee, deliverance and victory for those on the side of the Lord of Hosts.
