Today’s Readings:
Isaiah 1

Isaiah 3
Titus 1

21 How the faithful city has become a harlot,
She who was full of justice!
Righteousness once lodged in her,
But now murderers.
22 Your silver has become dross,
Your drink diluted with water.
23 Your rulers are rebels
And companions of thieves;
Everyone loves a bribe
And chases after rewards.
They do not defend the orphan,
Nor does the widow’s plea come before them.

Isaiah 1:21-23

The Lord says,
Victory, triumph, acceleration and resurrection. We have entered a moment of great and perhaps unexpected acceleration. It’s time to hold on and keep your eyes on Me, because what will take place will be very unexpected. What will come to pass will make your head spin, what will be exposed will be rotten to the core. And the resolve and righteous indignation of the people will be like a wildfire of fury across the land and the nations.

The people will rise up with a righteous rage at what they have seen, heard and learned. They will roar in unity with a mighty roar at those weak, disgusting criminals who set themselves up to be your betters, to rule and control the lives of many. The people will rise up and overcome these thieves, these criminals, these vile ones, these traitors. The people will overwhelm them and engulf them like a wildfire of rage. And the platforms of leadership will be purified as with fire, because of the great rage that wrought the cleansing.

31 The strong man will become tinder,
His work also a spark.
Thus they shall both burn together
And there will be none to quench them.

Isaiah 1:31

Then the people will listen to the words of those seeking positions of authority. They will dig into their histories, seek testimonies from friends, family, neighbors and clients. They will test each and every one who purses a post of leadership. The people will hold the line. They will hold firm. They will not allow themselves to be ruled by weak-willed men and women, by facades, by those who seek power for selfish gain, by tyrants, by blood thirsty and power hungry ones. NO. Leadership will require extensive pre-testing. It will require great transparency. It will require humility and exposing one’s private life for review. Filthy ones, immoral ones, dysfunctional ones, low intelligence ones, easily manipulated or controlled ones will not make the cut.

26 “Then I will restore your judges as at the first,
And your counselors as at the beginning;
After that you will be called the city of righteousness,
A faithful city.”
27
Zion will be redeemed with justice
And her repentant ones with righteousness.
28 But transgressors and sinners will be crushed together,
And those who forsake the Lord will come to an end.

Isaiah 1:26-28

Leaders will be expected to truly serve and serve the interest and the good of the people. Leaders will not be called upon to rule. They will be positioned to serve. A healthy respect and fear of the people will be regained. The land is the people’s and the right to lead is determined by the will, the pleasure and the consent of the people.

These painstakingly selected leaders will remember the lion’s roar of the righteously angry mob. They will remember that they were one with those who rose up and whose anger scorched the earth. The memory of the roar and the threat of the roar will be required to keep leadership in check.

For the overseer must be above reproach as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, 8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, 9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

Titus 1:7-9

Righteous leaders must first be able to manage themselves well and their households. They must not live under a great load of debt. They must be prosperous and free from the enticement of bribes. They must live pure lives that don’t allow them to be manipulated or blackmailed. They must be of fierce conviction, so they stand for what is right against the tides of public opinion — with their ultimate aim being the good of the nation and her people. This is the test of a leader.

Leaders will no longer ascend by family name, by university name or by professional pedigree. The bar will be set much higher. Transparency committees will see to their effectual vetting and appropriate exposure before the people.

10 Say to the righteous that it will go well with them,
For they will eat the fruit of their actions.
11 Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him,
For what he deserves will be done to him.

Isaiah 3:10-11

We are moving toward days where rancorous politics are thrown out, trampled and demolished. And they are replaced by methodical, honest, systematic selection of worthy leaders. Books will be opened and lives laid bare for the honor of getting to serve the people. That is what leadership in America will look like after the fury. It is a solemn and weighty thing to pursue leadership. The people and the process will reflect that truth once again.

How to Respond

  • Sit with the Lord and ask Him to help you purify your own life and examine your own areas of leadership. Ask Him to give you wisdom and discernment about those in positions of leadership in your business and nation.
  • Pray, Lord thank You for bringing exposure to the wickedness and darkness of many in positions of power in America and around the world. Lord, I ask that with the exposure You would cause Your peace and wisdom to fall on the people. Help us select worthy leaders.
  • Declare, the Lord is moving to expose corruption and wickedness in leadership so thoroughly that a great unity such as never been seen before in America will rise up and roar against the tyrants, criminals and oppressors.
  • Decree, the Lord and the people will win. Tyrants, oppressors, criminals, perverts and corrupted ones will be run out of office. The people, with the support of the Lord, will clear all of the leadership platforms of the nation and require fresh starts with transparent processes. The Lord will give wisdom to the people for how to select righteous public servants and leaders in all fields. The term “leader” will be re-established as one who serves and leads many in the right ways, transparently and by example.
