“Let the sunrise of your love end our dark night. Break through our clouded dawn again! Only you can satisfy our hearts, filling us with songs of joy to the end of our days. We’ve been overwhelmed with grief; come now and overwhelm us with gladness. Replace our years of trouble with decades of delight. Let us see your miracles again, and let the rising generation see the glorious wonders you’re famous for. O Lord our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us. Come work with us, and then our works will endure; you will give us success in all we do.”
Psalms 90:14-17 TPT
The Spirit of the Living God says,
Breakthrough is here. The day of breakthrough is here. The sun is setting on disappointment. The sun is setting on the season of discouragement, frustration and pain. The sunlight of promise is breaking through. And this is a new day, a day of breakthrough, a season of change, of rapid advancement in a determined direction. It may not be the direction you thought — but it is a clear and determined direction.
“Now rise up and go over the brook Zered. So we went over the brook Zered.”
Deuteronomy 2:13 AMPC
The brook of Zered was the place where the Israelites crossed out of their wandering in the wilderness. The word Zered means “brook of exuberant willows” in Hebrew. In the Bible willows represent abundance and/or season of disappointment, sadness or sorrow. This brook of Zered literally marks the threshold of breakthrough from disappointment to abundance for the Israelites.
You have to step out. You have to cross the threshold. You can’t stay here clinging to these dark and gray days of disappointment, loss and hope deferred because you are afraid. Fear has no place here. Don’t fear getting your hopes up. Getting your hopes up is the requirement for entry. This is the attitude and the mindset that permits you to cross the threshold. You must be in belief. You must be in hope. You must live in expectancy and faith that what I say is true. If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, the door will open for you.
“The Lord spoke to me [Moses], saying, You are this day to pass through Ar, the border of Moab.”
Deuteronomy 2:17-18 AMPC
In Hebrew, Ar means “awakening” or “uncovering.” Moab means “he is of my father.” This is the place of the uncovering or revealing of the sons and daughters of God.
Romans 8:19 - “The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters!”
This IS that time — the time of the revealing of the sons and daughters of God.
This is the land of the new day. This is the land from which you can see the vistas of great promise. This is the land of the promises, the grace, the equipping, the fulfillment that leads you to the fullness of the Glorious Promised Land. These are the foothills of the Promised Land. Promise is here too. Establishing answers are here too. Building blocks of greatness are here too. Stake your claim. The promises are true. My promises are true. My promises are real. My promises are yes and amen, and My gifts and callings are without repentance or revocation.
These are the foothills of abundance that prepare you and establish you for the days ahead. Yes it is still an active war. Yes there are many battle days ahead. But once you cross the threshold into this day of breakthrough, you will find yourself in a totally new, totally different, abundant land. You will leave the wilderness and cross over the threshold into the stunning and different, unfamiliar but lush and beautiful (perhaps intimidating if your eyes and heart are not trained on Me) land. These are the green foothills of the Promised Land. This is a foretaste of glory divine. This is the place of establishing.
How to Respond
- Step into the change and promise that the Lord has for you.
- Pray, Lord, help me to be certain of Your voice. Help me to step out in faith. Help me to leave the days of disappointment, frustration and hope deferred behind; and help me to cross the threshold into the new day of promise. Help me to have the faith and expectancy to thrive in this place of abundance, equipping, warfare and establishing. From there I will be able to see the Promised Land.
- Declare, great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. All honor, glory and praise be to His wonderful Name. The Lord opens doors that no man can shut, and He has opened to us the door of breakthrough from the gray days of frustration, disappointment and pain into the foothills of the magnificent Promised Land.
- Decree, I will get my hopes up. I will live in great anticipation of experiencing the Lord’s goodness in every aspect of my life. I will step through the threshold of breakthrough into this new day of promise, onto the foothills of the Promised Land. As I move onto the foothills of the Promised Land, I will find abundance I didn’t know existed for me. I will be equipped in ways I had not perceived needing. I will fight and win battles that advance the cause of the Kingdom, and I will be established by the Lord.
