Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 41
Psalm 23

2 “Who has aroused one from the east
Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet?
He delivers up nations before him
And subdues kings.
He makes them like dust with his sword,
As the wind-driven chaff with his bow.
3 “He pursues them, passing on in safety,
By a way he had not been traversing with his feet.
4 “Who has performed and accomplished it,
Calling forth the generations from the beginning?
‘I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.’”

Isaiah 41:2-4

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Empires are falling. Dark towers and strongholds are crumbling. My grace is here to topple — to topple kingdoms, rulers, principalities. My grace is here to stir up discontent among the people. Where they have been heavy laden, where they have been burdened down, where they have been dejected and compliant and complacent, I Am stirring up discontent in hearts. I Am stirring up a murmuring against the controlling forces of the day. I Am stirring up a heart’s cry for freedom in the people. The people will no longer be content to carry these heavy loads. The people will no longer be content to just get by. The people will no longer be content to cede most of their earnings to evil controlling thieves.

15 “Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;
You will thresh the mountains and pulverize them,
And will make the hills like chaff.
16 “You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away,
And the storm will scatter them;
But you will rejoice in the Lord,
You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 41:15-16

I Am stirring the people to freedom. I Am stirring the people to rise up and break the shackles that have bound them, constrained them and controlled their movements and options. I Am causing them to rise up like warriors, like Samsons who can snap the chains. I Am empowering the people to break loose and break free. They will shout for freedom. They will cry out for freedom. They will roar for freedom, and freedom will break free.

23 The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23:1-6

I will lead them to wide open spacious living. I will lead them to truth. I will lead them beside still waters. My heart is with the people. My heart is for the people. And My heart is stirring in their hearts an unquenchable, unplacatable thirst for freedom. Rejoice, because the rumbling for freedom has begun, and the toppling of those dark towers is in sight.

How to Respond

  • Pray, thank You Lord that You are the author of life and that You created us for freedom. Thank You for loving us, for placing freedom in our hearts and for stirring us to freedom in a time when Your grace for breakthrough is here.
  • Declare, the Lord is holy. He is worthy of honor and praise. The Lord is stirring up a primal longing for freedom in the people, and He has brought the grace for breakthrough. He has provided the grace for toppling evil ruling institutions and controlling spirits. He is breaking the power of principalities, and He is setting the people free.
  • Decree, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. He who the Lord sets free is free indeed. I and my household, community and nation will join the cry and the mighty roar for freedom. We will participate in and experience the great breakthrough that the Lord has provided. We will taste and live in freedom because He is good.
