Matthew 10
25 It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! 26 “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.
Matthew 10:25-27
The Lord says,
Do your dancing for an audience of One. Do your work, your life, your fun — do it all for Me. Live, dance, enjoy and move forward with intrepid determination as if I Am the only one watching. Truly, I Am the only one whose opinion matters. I Am the very air in your lungs. Shake off the concern about what others think of you, what their opinions are, what their mouths speak about you. Why should that keep you from an outrageously beautiful destiny? Why should that slow down your cadence as you dance heartily through life? Why should their stare strike fear or shame or dismay in your heart? Dance, sing, worship, work, play and serve for an audience of One. Shake off any concerns of the looks of others, the murmuring, criticisms and complaints of others. Don’t let their words land on you, slow you down and certainly don’t let them stop you.
28 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:28-31
I’m calling you to race ahead. I’m calling you to enjoy life and really fully live. I’m calling you to dance, to dance and to dance some more. Ignore the haters, the complainers, the critics and the cynics. They can’t get where you are going. They are a false audience who are not walking in their own callings, because they have reassigned themselves to the role of unofficial judge. As any unofficial, self-appointed role gets no pay and no reward for spending time there, neither will they.
14 Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. 15 Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
Matthew 10:14-15
I Am calling you to boldly and unashamedly cast off the restraints of caring about what others think, say or do. I’m calling you to run boldly through the brick wall of conventional wisdom, status quo and accepted societal norms. I Am causing you to dance to the beat of a different drum. Dance, dance, dance like I Am the only one watching. Recall, I Am the only judge, and I score differently than the false ones. If you invite Me, I will get up and dance with you.
32 “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:32-33
I long to dance with you. I long for you to shake off other lovers, other priorities, other concerns and dance only for Me, dance only with Me. You are so perfectly positioned to cut ties with the old ways, the old mindsets, the old voices that ring hurtful words in your ears and pierce your heart. Just do it. Cut off those ties, and get back out onto the dance floor. Invite Me out there, I will dance with you. It’s time to have fun.
How to Respond
- Pray, Lord show me who in my life I need to distance myself from, who I need to de-prioritize friendship, connection or time with. Show me what mindsets, old hurts, old assumptions and beliefs, old ways of operating and old ties to shame and fear I need to cut off and leave behind. Help me to do it. Help me to embrace You, embrace joy, embrace fully living and do it for an audience of One.
- Declare, the Lord is calling people to leave behind old ways, old patterns, old beliefs, old connections to shame and fear, and to cut out people that criticize and cause a drag on achieving destiny.
- Decree, I will cut ties with people, thought patterns, mindsets, shame, disbelief, and every other time and energy wasting thing that is getting in the way of me living a life of celebration and advancement, of dancing and enjoying life with the Lord God Most High. I will live for Him alone. He alone is my judge and my eternal dance partner.
