Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 61
61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Isaiah 61:1-3
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;
2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
The Spirit of the Lord says,
Strong people, men and women of impeccable character who reflect Me, they are the ones I have chosen to lead, to teach, to coach in the Revival of the Ages. These are ones who have been training and building strength and endurance in private — almost in seclusion — with maybe only a few likeminded people surrounding them and going in the same direction as them. These are ones I Am calling out, drawing out from the training place into the harvest fields.
6 But you will be called the priests of the Lord;
Isaiah 61:6-9
You will be spoken of as ministers of our God.
You will eat the wealth of nations,
And in their riches you will boast.
7 Instead of your shame you will have a double portion,
And instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion.
Therefore they will possess a double portion in their land,
Everlasting joy will be theirs.
8 For I, the Lord, love justice,
I hate robbery in the burnt offering;
And I will faithfully give them their recompense
And make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 Then their offspring will be known among the nations,
And their descendants in the midst of the peoples.
All who see them will recognize them
Because they are the offspring whom the Lord has blessed.
This revival will be so incredibly different from any revival in history. This revival will not only be marked by conversions, but the numbers, the about faces and the total transformations will astound. This Revival of the Ages will be marked by deep, purposeful discipleship of very hungry ones. It will be like those who are plucked up from the harvest field immediately find a soft patch of grass to sit on to be taught of Me. They will hunger and thirst for righteousness, and they will have a strong, unquenchable desire for the deep things of Me. This is the revival of the radicals. This is the revival of the zealots. This is the revival of those with extreme passion. I placed that extreme conviction in their heart. I placed that unbridleable compassion in their hearts. I placed that uncontainable dreamer’s mind in them. It has all been misdirected, misguided and searching for a true anchor point until now.
4 Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,
Isaiah 61:4-5
They will raise up the former devastations;
And they will repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
5 Strangers will stand and pasture your flocks,
And foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers.
I Am calling out the dreamers, the justice warriors, the loud and the unstoppable ones. I Am calling them out of the darkness into My glorious light, and they will be the ones who take the world by storm. They will be the ones who mark this world with a long overdue cultural revolution that is Kingdom breathed. These ones who have seemed to their families to be wild, untamable, even mean bucking stallions — uncontrollable, unbridleable, unreasonable and wrong-headed — they will walk willingly and with desperate repentant hearts, right into My harness of love. They will sit quietly, as well-loved and dearly comforted children, and they will receive. Their power, their determination, their outsized energy and force will still remain, but it will be found in submission to My merciful strong hands. Their passion, their voices, their powerful sound will be harnessed for good, for My Kingdom purposes and for rebuilding, re-creating and restoration.
10 I will rejoice greatly in the Lord,
Isaiah 61:10-11
My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations.
Their teachers, their coaches, their spiritual mothers and fathers will be ones who bear My image, who reflect My ways and who daily seek My face in the quiet place. I will impart to them wisdom on how to raise this unruly brood of newly transformed lovers of Mine. I will instruct them and guide them, and they will prepare these rough and tumble world changers to storm the very gates of hell. This revival is going to be fun. It is going to be transformative in a way that your mind can neither predict nor fathom. It will be sustained, powerful, magnetic. It will be made up of wild ones that I have pre-positioned and anointed to change the world. It will be stewarded by strong, bold immovable ones who have sought Me in the secret place.
How to Respond
- Ask the Lord to show you your place, your role in the Revival of the Ages.
- Pray, Lord thank You for raising up ones who bear Your image, Your character, Your ways and Your heart — to lead, teach, coach and disciple these wild ones that You are bringing into Your Kingdom. I want to be a part of it. Show me what it is You would have me do and where I can best serve Your purposes and Your people.
- Declare, the Lord is uncovering and unleashing wellsprings of revival in the earth. He is bringing many radicals, wanderers, prodigals and far far afield ones home to Him. He has been training up teachers, coaches and mentors to become spiritual mothers and fathers to disciple these untamable baby Believers.
- Decree, I will move and serve and do what the Lord calls me to do in service of His Revival of the Ages. I will see my family restored, my community transformed and my nation return to Him.
