Isaiah 9
“For we are not coming, as Moses did, to a physical mountain with its burning fire, thick clouds of darkness and gloom, and with a raging whirlwind. We are not those who are being warned by the jarring blast of a trumpet and the thundering voice; the fearful voice that they begged to be silenced. They couldn’t handle God’s command that said, “If so much as an animal approaches the mountain it is to be stoned to death!” The astounding phenomena Moses witnessed caused him to shudder with fear and he could only say, “I am trembling in terror!” By contrast, we have already come near to God in a totally different realm, the Zion-realm, for we have entered the city of the Living God, which is the New Jerusalem in heaven! We have joined the festal gathering of myriads of angels in their joyous celebration! And as members of the church of the Firstborn all our names have been legally registered as citizens of heaven! And we have come before God who judges all, and who lives among the spirits of the righteous who have been made perfect in his eyes! And we have come to Jesus who established a new covenant with his blood sprinkled upon the mercy seat; blood that continues to speak from heaven, “forgiveness,” a better message than Abel’s blood that cries from the earth, “justice.””

The Spirit of the Lord says,
Mine is a better message. Yours is a better message. We have a better message and a better substance, a better offer. What we carry is better than what the world offers, better than what the world can give. Ours is a better message. Ours is a message of life abundant, of forgiveness, of release from debt, from sin, from regret, from pain, from heartbreak. Ours is a message of freedom and flourishing, vibrant, abundant life. Ours is a better message.
2 The people who walk in darkness
Isaiah 9:2-3
Will see a great light;
Those who live in a dark land,
The light will shine on them.
3 You shall multiply the nation,
You shall increase their gladness;
They will be glad in Your presence
As with the gladness of harvest,
As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
All they can offer is dark temporary pleasure. All they can offer is shame, fear, punishment, betrayal. All they can offer is death, decay and entropy. Ours is a better message. The contrast is easy — it’s life or death, it’s love or hate, it’s freedom or insecurity and bondage. Ours is a better message. We speak of hope, and we carry hope. We speak of love, and we are visible, living proof of love. We speak of light. We are light, and we carry light. Ours is a better message. Why should you fear the message of life? Why should you fear the message you carry? Hope offends, freedom offends, grace offends, because it does not compute in man-made formulas, man-made structures and man-made systems. Grace is too big, hope is too big, love is too big, life abundant is too big to be contained by their small thinking and their reasoned ways. I Am above and beyond reason. I break every mold, every box, every structure. I Am the ever expanding one. I Am the structure, the government and the King whose Kingdom knows no end. You can’t contain Me. I cannot be contained.
6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
Isaiah 9:6-7
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
Speak this beautiful better message. Share it like a young flower girl drops beautiful petals in the path of the bride. You are a picture of that flower girl, making a path for My Bride. When you share and speak, when you carry and faithfully deliver, faithfully sprinkle and share this better message, you are creating the path for My Bride — the Church to come, the Church who is coming, and the Church who will come. Ours is a better message. Share it lavishly, generously, even hilariously as a flower girl prepares the way for the bride.
How to Respond
- Live your faith openly and without reservation. Share it generously with others as you live it authentically.
- Pray, Lord, show me how to live and be an active part of openly expressing Your better message. Help me to not shrink back and fear offending someone. Help me to see the sharing of my faith as what it truly is — an offering of life, of love, of abundant grace, of freedom. Thank You for a better message.
- Declare, the Lord’s message is an exponentially better message than what the world has to offer.
- Decree, I carry the light, love, hope and grace of the Lord. I am a messenger, a delivery agent of His love to those around me. I will lavishly and openly and even hilariously share the good news of what Jesus has done for me. I am a bearer of His better message.
